Structural Assembly is where the major components of the aircraft get built. This means drilling, fastening, and bonding parts together to build the wing, fuselage, empennage, and booms, then joining them together to produce the airframe.

As a Manufacturing Engineer working within the Structural Assembly team, you will be supporting airframe assembly on the weekend shift and driving process and design improvements to decrease cycle time, labor hours, and non-conformances.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

A Manufacturing Engineer is the link between Engineering and Production and has the role of defining and implementing assembly/installation methods to produce complex assemblies and complete aircraft

Plan, create, and improve work instructions to integrate engineering design requirements of structural, system, and experimental components into production in an optimal assembly sequence

Use FMEA & DOE techniques to determine root cause and execute corrective actions of manufacturing process problems, workmanship defects, test failures, etc.

Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception to start-up and certification

Use Lean Six Sigma tools to drive continuous product improvements, integrate automation solutions, and increase yield

Generate manufacturing assembly documentation and provide direct support of personnel in the day-to-day execution of manufacturing, inspection, and test operations

Design and implement manufacturing aids and tools to assist with precision locating, drilling, fastening, and bonding of structures

Active participation in program scheduling, to coordinate production timelines and identify critical path items

Minimum Qualifications:

Highly motivated to expedite and improve aircraft production

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Hands-on experience building and fixing things
