Water Resource Internship (Summer 2027)
Overview
Join us for an internship experience that offers real-world project involvement within a supportive environment alongside ample opportunities for professional and personal growth. At this time, we are seeking a Civil Design Intern in our Greenville, SC or Columbia, SC office for the Summer semester (May/June-August). This internship will be a full-time position working 40 hours a week. The Civil Design Intern will work alongside the Woolpert infrastructure teams working on design projects as well as supporting our task leads. Work can include projects for municipalities, large cities, and counties. All these projects directly impact the communities where we live and work.
This internship has a portion of work onsite/in-office. Woolpert does not provide housing or relocation for internships/co-ops.
We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.
What You Will Do
Work as part of the Civil design team on a wide range of projects focused on drainage improvements including channel, detention basin and storm sewer design, along with site work and water distribution projects.
Gain real-world experience working on actual projects alongside licensed engineers that are experts in their fields.
Assist on a variety of projects doing such things as calculations, cost estimates, and preparing design plans.
Work on software and systems such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Google Earth and ArcPro
Work as a member of a team that coordinates with other internal teams and external subconsultants and clients.
Go on 1-2 site visits and see the projects we work on
Perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence.

Be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university, preferably with at least sophomore status
Pursuing a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, with an interest in water related infrastructure design
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to function well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Exceptional multitasking and time management skills

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Pay Range
$23—$27 USD
