Traffic Engineer
This role is eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus, subject to the terms and conditions of the Company's sign-on bonus program.
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Traffic Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida, or be eligible to obtain one within six months. This role requires hands-on experience with transportation and traffic engineering projects across the state, including work with FDOT and local municipalities.
Your Responsibilities as a Transportation/Traffic Engineer:
Prepare and manage FDOT Driveway Connection Permit applications, including technical documentation and coordination with FDOT reviewers.
Develop Traffic Impact Statements (TIS) for cities and counties throughout Florida.
Conduct operational analyses and traffic modeling using Synchro/SimTraffic, including scenario development and LOS evaluation.
Perform traffic signal design, including plans, timing sheets, and coordination plans in alignment with FDOT and local agency standards.
Prepare technical reports, design documents, and supporting calculations.
Coordinate with clients, project managers, and permitting agencies.
Support multidisciplinary teams on transportation engineering projects.
What we're looking for:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Florida PE license, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
3+ years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering.
Valid drivers license and clean driving history.
Sponsorship not available now or in the future.
Proficiency in:
Synchro/SimTraffic
HCS (preferred)
MicroStation or AutoCAD (preferred)
Experience with:
FDOT driveway connection permitting
Traffic Impact Statements for local municipalities
Traffic signal design
