About the role

Muon seeks a Spacecraft Harnessing Technical Program Manager to lead the end-to-end planning, procurement, manufacturing, acceptance testing, and delivery of prototype, test, and flight cable assemblies and interconnect systems for our next-generation satellite constellations. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role at the intersection of electrical engineering, mechanical integration, high-reliability manufacturing, and Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T).

The Harnessing TPM will serve as the primary operational owner for transforming harness schematics and mechanical routing designs into fully tested, flight-ready interconnect networks. The role spans detailed hardware release planning, supply chain coordination, testing execution, and fleet-scale delivery across multiple concurrent spacecraft builds and test environments.

This position is hybrid and requires working on-site in our San Jose, CA office three days per week.

Please note: This role will need full time on-site (5x/week) for the first six months for a ramp up period and then can transition to hybrid schedule (3x/week).

Responsibilities

Hardware Delivery

Spacecraft Harness Delivery: Own the end-to-end planning and execution of all spacecraft harnessing needs entering AI&T, delivering complete, fully tested, and flight-ready interconnect assemblies for vehicle integration.

Testbed Fleet Support: Deliver complete, validated harnessing systems to Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) testbeds to support ongoing Flight Software (FSW) development, verification, and mission simulations for each satellite mission.

Future Mission Planning: Support engineering teams by planning harness architecture development for future constellation blocks and driving cross-functional execution across design, procurement, fabrication, and testing.

Program Execution & Reporting

Cross-Functional Execution: Drive end-to-end program alignment across electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, supply chain, and vehicle AI&T teams to meet critical assembly and integration milestones.

Program Metrics & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report key harnessing program metrics—including schedule status, resource allocation, risk posture, technical performance, and cost variance.

Supply Chain & Risk Management

Procurement & Production Tracking: Track the procurement, fabrication, and assembly status for all custom wire harnesses, specialized connectors, contacts, backshells, and associated mechanical shielding.

Issue Resolution: Proactively identify, track, and drive resolution for supply chain bottlenecks, component lead time spikes, design changes, and manufacturing or testing fallouts.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering leadership, or hardware production management delivering complex electromechanical assemblies, cable harnesses, or aerospace hardware.

Hands-on technical background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or wire harness manufacturing and testing.

Proven track record managing harness production lifecycles—from initial routing schematics and pinout definition through procurement, wire assembly, continuity/hipot testing, and acceptance.

Demonstrated experience managing programs with a complex, multi-tiered, critical-path supply chain.

Familiarity with program management scheduling and tracking tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.

U.S. Citizenship required (program is ITAR-restricted).

Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience in satellite or aerospace AI&T, vehicle interconnect manufacturing, or satellite constellation volume production.

Working knowledge of space-grade wiring and crimping standards (e.g., NASA-STD-8739.4, IPC/WHMA-A-620 Space Addendum).

Familiarity with hardware/software integration environments, testbeds, or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) simulators used for flight software development.

Experience managing environmental and electrical acceptance testing campaigns for cabling (e.g., high-potential testing, continuity verification, outgassing considerations, mass properties).

Proficiency with ERP/PLM and tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Arena, Agile PLM, SAP, or similar toolsets).

PMP certification or equivalent program management credentials.

Experience with harness and/or mechanical CAD software (such as RapidHarness, Solidworks, etc).

Salary

The salary range for this role is $174,000 - $199,000, plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
