Background

Private capital is a multi-trillion-dollar asset class historically run on spreadsheets, where private investment funds and portfolio companies report financials in their own formats on disparate timeframes. Chronograph has 10 years of market-leading experience in extracting, normalizing, reconciling and delivering disparate private markets data at scale: in total, the company manages over $39 trillion in data assets.

Every insight in Chronograph is auditable to its original source, a private capital report or document. Chronograph’s process of ingestion and structuring turns highly variable, semi-structured inputs into trusted data. With AI now embedded across private markets, this unprecedented corpus of data has become the foundation for new insights and intelligence, with classified, queryable data powering semantic search, portfolio analytics, and agentic, LLM-driven workflows.

The Role

We’re seeking a technically fluent, systems-minded technical product leader to own agentic data extraction, normalization, entity resolution, validation, and semantic indexing, carrying a decade of ML-based ingestion into the agentic era. This is a senior role for someone who has taken extraction products from concept through launch and deeply understands how to assess accuracy across a range of approaches and thousands of formats. You’ll work across the full range of methods, from OCR to layout-aware models to vision-language and LLM-based extraction, with a clear view of where each belongs.

You’ll partner with engineering and applied AI/ML teams to specify extraction architecture, logic, and data structures, iterating quickly to deliver commercial and client-facing capabilities. This role will also collaborate closely with senior leadership to set the pace and direction of the roadmap. You’ll treat 100% accurate extraction as an end-to-end product system, owning the heuristic, agentic, and human review layers, including how extracted data feeds downstream workflows. The role is open to senior product leaders as well as founding engineers, tech leads, and forward-deployed / applied AI operators who have owned this problem.

In this role you will:

Own the data extraction roadmap and partner closely with engineering counterparts to define how the full, variable range of private capital documents gets ingested and structured into wholly trusted, auditable, usable data.

Work closely with engineering to design and refine a pipeline of layered extraction techniques: OCR, layout-aware models, and vision-language / LLM / contrastive LM approaches.

Continuously improve the extraction pipeline end-to-end, including validation, reconciliation, correction, and human review layers.

Monitor and model the cost of various approaches, seeking to upgrade functionality and decrease costs as model capabilities continue to improve.

Set and defend the accuracy bar: Build rigorous, eval-driven frameworks that improve extraction quality as pipeline components are iterated upon.

Connect capability to client demand: Work with senior leadership, commercial, and client-facing teams to align the roadmap with maximum client value.

Be a leader: Stay at the frontier of agentic extraction and document intelligence, drive innovation across Chronograph’s product suite, and communicate your vision to internal and external audiences.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Senior product leadership experience in a comparable role: You’ve owned VLM- and LLM-native extraction tools from inception to launch, setting direction, sequencing the roadmap, making prioritization calls, and managing releases.

Eval-driven decision making: You’ve built the eval sets and automated processes to  quantitatively test functionality  and guide approach, model selection, prompting, and fine-tuning.

Enough technical depth to earn Engineering’s respect: You can spec extraction logic for a technical audience, hold your own when debating implementation and trade-offs, and stay informed as new models and model architectures are released.

Strong product systems instinct: You reason through the whole chain, from initial agentic extraction to the human review layer to how each decision flows through downstream reporting workflows.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills: You can work credibly with senior leadership, client-facing teams, engineering, and top clients, building buy-in, keeping everyone pointed in one direction, and turning vision into concrete plans.

An AI-native way of working: You’ve adopted LLMs, prototyping platforms, and agentic tooling to redefine how you work

Salary Range (dependent on experience)
