Technical Product Manager

Overview

We are looking for a Lead Technical Product Manager to drive the strategy, development, and market success of Defensics, Black Duck’s industry-leading fuzz-testing platform. This is a senior, hybrid role that sits at the intersection of product management, deep technical leadership, and sales engineering, with a strong focus on customer engagement and real-world impact.

This role is ideal for a product leader who thrives in highly technical environments, enjoys working close to customers, and can translate protocol-level complexity into clear business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Product Leadership & Strategy

Own the product vision, roadmap, and execution for Defensics

Define and prioritise features based on customer needs, market trends, and competitive insights

Partner with engineering to deliver high-quality, scalable security testing capabilities

Drive end-to-end product lifecycle management from concept to release

Technical Product Ownership

Act as the subject matter expert in fuzz testing, protocol security, and application security

Translate complex technical concepts into clear product requirements and value propositions

Work closely with engineering on protocol-level functionality and integrations

Ensure the product meets enterprise-grade performance, scalability, and security standards

Customer Engagement & Sales Engineering

Lead deep technical engagements with customers, prospects, and partners

Support sales teams through pre-sales activities, demos, and solution positioning

Translate customer challenges into product enhancements and innovation opportunities

Act as a trusted advisor to customers on security testing best practices

Cross-Functional Leadership

Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Customer Success teams

Influence stakeholders at all levels to align on product strategy and execution

Mentor and guide junior product managers and technical contributors

Required Experience

Proven experience in Technical Product Management or Product Leadership roles

Strong background in cybersecurity, application security, or protocol testing

Experience working with fuzz testing, network protocols, or vulnerability discovery tools

Demonstrated ability to engage with highly technical customers and engineering teams

Track record of delivering complex technical products to market
