About the role

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our manufacturing operations in Merlimau, Melaka.

As a Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in overseeing a team of production workers, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality output. This is a full-time position based on-site at our facility.

In this role you will:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team of production workers

Monitor team performance and productivity, and implement strategies to optimize workflows

Provide hands-on training and coaching to team members to develop their skills

Identify and resolve any operational issues or bottlenecks in a timely manner

Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and quality standards

Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute production schedules

Provide regular progress reports to management

You will have:

Proven experience as a Team Leader / Supervisor / Shift Lead in a manufacturing environment, especially heavy industry

5 to 7 years in moulding

Strong engineering drawing skills

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a team

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control & resource management

Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies

Strong communication and reporting skills

Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, dynamic team. Able to work on shift hours (morning and afternoon), 6 days work week (Mon to Sat) but do not exceed 45 hours per week

Qualification

Certificate or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology (other types of Engineering / Technical disciplines will be considered.

Technical Skills

Foundry pattern - pattern assembly, repair, and familiarity with wood, metal and resin patterns

Knowledge of casting design principles, tolerances and shrinkage allowance

Tooling - machining processes, jigs, fixtures, gauges and tooling design. Require proficiency in CAD/CAM software
