SVP, Medical Director, Medical Strategy & Scientific Affairs
Position Overview
The SVP, Medical Director is a dedicated, collaborative, innovative, and—above all—curious leader. The SVP operates independently while guiding VPs and their teams to shape medical strategy. They are skilled at identifying actionable insights and presenting compelling recommendations to clients. This role involves managing multiple clients, brands, and indications, while also fostering the professional growth of team members. The SVP will be expected to develop innovative strategies for brands. The SVP's performance will be measured based on their ability to manage various clients and brands, grow and mentor team members, and contribute as a thought leader in the organization, specifically in the application of insights and strategy to create impactful oncology content and engagement.
Role Requirements:
Drive a book of business of a designated volume or level of sophistication/complexity
Provide leadership within their team/department
Support strategic skills beyond the department
Understand and access available tools and data resources
Present a professional and positive image of BGB Group both internally and externally
Follow agency process and policies and ensure their team is doing the same
Train and develop talent within their team/department
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced clinical or scientific qualifications, such as an MD, PhD, or PharmD, with a minimum of five years of experience in an agency (preferred) or within the pharmaceutical industry, specifically supporting marketing or medical communications.
A strong passion for science and medicine, with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate medical advancements to diverse audiences and quickly grasp new therapeutic areas.
Proven ability to lead and manage the development of content, including data analysis, for a variety of complex projects, with minimal supervision or guidance.
Skilled at independently and accurately integrating strategic concepts into projects, while also mentoring others to do the same.
Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000 USD
BGBx is headquartered in New York City, and the salary range listed reflects the expected base compensation for this role in the New York City metropolitan area. This position may be performed remotely within the United States. For candidates located outside the New York City area, compensation will be adjusted to reflect the applicable market for the employee’s primary work location. Final compensation will be determined based on geographic location, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
Local (tri-state) client engagement travel as needed/required.
