About the Role

As the executive lead for our commerce & retail practice, you are responsible for defining our overarching commerce strategy, scaling our modern retail capabilities, and building unified solutions that connect media performance to transactions. You will be a strategic leader within our Data & Media team, contributing meaningfully to our P&L, serving as the primary enterprise consultant for senior client stakeholders navigating complex commerce maturity journeys.

Your remit spans the strategic oversight of our core commerce infrastructure, partnering closely with the investment/activation team and major networks like Amazon, Walmart, Target, and other RMNs in the US and Canada. This includes maximizing multi-million dollar investments across the marketplace and engineering direct-to-consumer (DTC) transformations. Additionally, you will work closely with our data team and proprietary AI tools to integrate best-in-class commerce and retail data partnerships directly into our planning and creative intelligence AI workflows, ensuring our solutions remain best in class.

A primary mandate of this leadership role is the expansion of our creator commerce footprint at Monks. You will architect this high-growth capability right at the convergence of our world-class social credentials, creator/influencer networks, and affiliate marketing. By unifying these capabilities, you will build scalable offerings that turn cultural momentum into immediate transactional volume, driving real-time brand results and establishing Monks as a leader in this specialty.

Experience Sought:

Scaled Commerce Leadership: You have run a commerce or retail media department at scale. You have a proven track record operating at an executive level, leading a large-scale agency practice or consulting business unit spanning specialized disciplines like DTC operations, Retail Media Networks, Social Commerce, and Digital Shelf Optimization.

Full-Funnel Strategic Vision: You possess a deep understanding of true full-funnel, integrated commerce. You are an expert at combining paid channels with owned channels, content, data, and technology to drive measurable business outcomes, and you can seamlessly evangelize this modern approach to CMOs, Heads of eCommerce, and Chief Digital Officers.

Experimental Mindset: Collaborate with Data & Analytics team members to transform complex media and content test and learn initiatives into high-level media allocation strategies, providing executive leadership with the statistical confidence required to aggressively scale high-performing commerce channels and eliminate waste.

Commercial Growth & Pitch Excellence: You possess a potent sales mindset with a track record of winning new business, driving client expansion, and proactively identifying high-value cross-sell opportunities across a diverse agency portfolio.

Talent Elevation: You can actively coach and transition senior practice leaders, building a strong leadership bench while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Executive Presence: You possess the executive presence required to represent a major organization at industry events, conferences, and executive forums.
