Supplier Project Engineer, Supply Chain

TerraPower, LLC. is seeking a Supplier Project Engineer to provide the following services to support the Supply Chain organization.  This individual is responsible for management and technical integration of supplier projects supporting the Natrium Project in conjunction with the Contract Administrator and Technical Representative.

Tasks

The SPE acts in a project management capacity for supplier performance management and oversight.

The SPE will apply classic project management tools to oversee suppliers including cost, schedule, submittal oversight, and resources.

Key collaborator with internal technical and commercial teams to ensure fidelity to contract and technical direction with supplier

Develop statements of work (SOW) and project planning to execute supplier projects to meet program objectives

Facilitate supplier selection activities for the request for proposals (RFPs) and team review/selection processes in conjunction with the Contract Administrator through the entire bid, evaluate, and award phase

Provide direction and oversight of supplier projects, working with the Contract Administrator to ensure delivery of contract deliverables

Manage technical interfaces between supplier projects and TerraPower’s technical team

Provide support to contract administration and commercial activities as needed to implement projects

Manage the submittal process between the supplier and TerraPower Team including the coordination of the review process for supplier deliverables and ensuring appropriate responses and disposition

Maintain awareness of supplier technical capabilities, organization changes, and relationships to ensure positive feedback to Natrium

Provide supplier oversight during regularly scheduled and impromptu visits to supplier locations as determined by project

Key Qualifications and Skills

Technical degree preferably in mechanical, electrical, chemical, nuclear, systems, or civil engineering required.

10 or more years of experience in supplier oversight required

PMP certification preferred or equivalent training

Prefer 3-5 years of manufacturing oversight

Understanding of manufacturing travelers, welding, and similar manufacturing processes

Experience defining supplier work scope to include development of SOWs, RFPs and providing direction and oversight of supplier projects required

Demonstrated skills in management of suppliers in design and manufacturing environments

Demonstrated skills in supporting contractual/commercial aspects of customer/supplier relationships

Previous experience in technical interface with engineering groups for review and input to supplier activities

Required experience with project controls and organization along with tools and processes to support the same

A broad understanding of the mechanical, electrical, and nuclear engineering disciplines and how they interrelate is important

Strong communication skills desired

Job details

Salary range: $131,828 - $171,206

Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
