Role

This is a founding role on Peregrine's Business Technologies team — which means you're not inheriting a system, you're designing one. You'll be the second hire on the team, working alongside the TPM Lead to define how internal infrastructure is built, automated, and scaled across identity, SaaS, and cloud platforms.

The work is engineering-first: workflow automation, system integrations, IaC, and tooling that operates at company scale. You'll partner directly with IT, Security, and business teams — Marketing, Finance, Sales, Legal — and you'll have the latitude to set architectural direction, not just execute on it. Our goal is to bring the same rigor and scalability we apply to customer-facing products to the systems the company runs on.

IT support exists in this role because coverage matters, but it's not the job. The job is building the platform that makes support problems disappear.

About you

You think in systems, not tickets — when you see the same problem twice, you build the thing that prevents it.

Your best work stories start with "I saw this coming, so I built…" — not "I got a request to…"

You're comfortable working directly with non-technical business stakeholders: asking the right questions, translating business needs into system requirements, and communicating trade-offs clearly, delivering the solution.

You're at home in a growth-stage environment — you can scope ambiguous work, make reasonable architectural decisions without full consensus, and ship.

You can hold both modes: a strategic project execution, and IT support escalation, without losing context.

What we look for

10+ years in systems engineering, IT engineering, or a closely related infrastructure role — with a clear arc toward automation and software engineering.

Experience partnering with internal business teams — such as Finance, GTM, HR, Legal, or Security — to translate business needs into scalable systems and integrations.

Strong Python and scripting/automation experience, with a track record of building reliable workflows, tooling, or API-based integrations. Ability to write SQL.

Experience with an identity platform (Okta, Entra ID, OneLogin, Auth0, or similar), including SSO and SCIM, and access lifecycle management.

Solid working knowledge of MDM platforms such as Jamf and/or Intune, including policy management, scripting, or automation.

2+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure, AWS, or a comparable cloud/SaaS infrastructure environment.

Prior experience at a growth-stage company (Series B–D); ideally you've seen the inflection points firsthand.

Practical experience with LLMs and AI agents, and a genuine interest in applying them to automate IT workflows and operations.

Exposure to compliance frameworks (SOC 2, FedRAMP) is a plus.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $225,000 Annually + Benefits + Equity (if applicable) + Bonus (if applicable)

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, certifications or licenses, and specific work location. Information on the benefits offered is here.

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
