Role Overview

Join Parachute as a Staff Product Designer on our core Supplier experience team. Parachute helps home medical equipment (HME) suppliers — the companies that get things like wheelchairs, oxygen equipment, and CPAP machines to patients — manage the entire order lifecycle. Order management is one of Parachute's top R&D priorities this year, and within it, you'll own end-to-end UX for the admin workflow layer: the tools suppliers use to manage how their teams work on Parachute, with an initial focus on workflow configuration and integrations.

This is a "ship to learn" role with a high bar for craft, set in an emerging, loosely-defined problem space. But at the Staff level, we're looking for more than someone who can navigate that ambiguity well themselves — we're looking for someone who turns how they navigate it into patterns, practices, and systems that make every designer and team working in this space afterward more effective.

Responsibilities

Strategic design leadership & execution

Own end-to-end UX for admin workflow setup and integrations within supplier order management — and treat the patterns you establish (how rules are expressed, how integration states are communicated, how workflows are configured) as reusable, documented systems, not just shipped features

Lead discovery to define undefined territory: routing/triage strategy, ERP integration capabilities, and what adoption success looks like — and turn your discovery approach (prototype-first exploration, field research cadence, success-metric definition) into repeatable practices other teams can learn from and adopt

Iterate on designs based on stakeholder feedback and validation testing to continuously improve the user experience

Cross functional collaboration

Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders in operations and sales, along with designers, product managers, and engineers, to understand the problem space and define product strategy through design-led activities like workshops, journey mapping, and prototyping

Work closely with engineers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and to the highest quality standards

Craft & culture builder

On shared surfaces, raise the bar through critique, pattern stewardship, and mentorship — not just contribution and collaboration

Foster a growth-oriented design culture by advocating for excellence in design across teams, sharing critique, and receiving feedback to elevate the quality of your work

Occasionally travel to conduct in-person research and validation with customers, about once per quarter

Qualifications

End-to-end human centered design expertise: Experience spanning the entire design lifecycle, demonstrating ability to scope and lead from initial discovery through high-fidelity design and implementation for complex B2B products

Workflow/configuration tooling experience: Experience designing for workflow management, CRM, or data-centric products where users configure rules, automations, or integrations

Technical acumen. Ability to read and understand API design and translate insights into implications for the user experience.

Exploratory craft & leading through design: Experience leading rapid prototyping to de-risk complex initiatives — using low-fidelity, high-function prototypes to build organizational alignment and pairing with stakeholders on exploratory builds to evaluate ideas before full investment

Openness to new tools: Our toolstack is changing constantly — Figma, Notion, Claude, and Cursor today, something else tomorrow. You don't need deep proficiency in every tool on day one, but you're curious, proactive, and genuinely excited to pick up new ones (including emerging AI tools) as they come.

Proactive collaboration: Strong ability to strategically and inclusively collaborate with stakeholders within and across teams, across functions, and at the leadership level to help drive decisions and influence strategy.

Adaptability: Resilience in the face of constant change — our startup environment shifts quickly, and you're someone who adjusts well rather than someone who needs things to stay settled to do good work

Design systems: Experience working with and contributing to a mature design system serving many delivery teams (ours currently supports 10+) — a different skill set than building a smaller, self-contained system

Who you are

What makes you a great fit for joining the design team at Parachute

You are a champion of cross team collaboration that uses your expertise in designing and facilitating discussions that create alignment and lead towards ideal outcomes for users

You have a “ship to learn” mindset, are comfortable shipping lean experiments, and know how to compromise between perfect solutions and viable solutions

Listening with empathy is a core value, helping you understand with intention, communicate with clarity, earn trust, and build collective wisdom with cross-functional teammates

You are a data-informed designer, leveraging qualitative and quantitative methods to understand and measure the success of solutions that meet business and user needs

What makes you successful for this particular role

You're energized by ambiguous, technical problem spaces and can drive strategic research independently before a roadmap exists

You enjoy working on high-complexity enterprise experiences, particularly workflow, configuration, and integrations tooling

You are comfortable relying on craft, UX best practices, and collaboration to make design decisions autonomously

You find joy in simplicity and excel at simplifying complex ideas through thoughtful reduction

Who you aren’t

You aren’t seeking a highly structured work environment. Comfort with ambiguity is a must as our company scales and our product processes evolve.

You aren’t seeking to focus on defining design systems or component-level visual details. Opportunities to collaborate with our design systems team will be plentiful, but your role is more focused on the application of existing components and patterns.
