Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer - Advisor Experience
The Role
We are seeking a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Advisor Experience team as our Technical Lead. Our team is focused on building tools for financial advisors to grow and sustain their business. We oversee bespoke products for advisors and develop advisor-focused capabilities throughout the Addepar platform.
In this role, you will be the primary technical anchor for new capabilities including Secure Message Center — a compliant messaging experience built into Addepar's client portal that allows advisors and their clients to communicate directly within the platform. You will partner directly with Engineering Leadership and Product Management to build a modern, scalable architecture from the ground up. Beyond system design, you will act as a true engineering multiplier: setting technical standards, mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, and working alongside other senior engineers and AI specialists to deliver high-impact advisor tools.

What You'll Do
Architect, implement, and maintain full-stack engineering solutions to solve complex problems; write well-designed, efficient, and maintainable code that is scalable and extensible across frontend and backend systems
Shape technical direction for the team by establishing engineering standards, contributing to shared libraries, and driving design reviews across the full stack
Mentor, coach, and empower other engineers, identifying skill gaps and fostering professional growth through pairing, code review, and technical guidance
Contribute to an inclusive and high-performing team culture
Collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and engineers across time zones to align on priorities and deliver outcomes
Communicate technical ideas and set direction on projects with a focus on solving business challenges
Who You Are
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience
8+ years of software engineering experience, with experience at the Staff level or above preferred
Strong proficiency across the full stack, including modern frontend frameworks (e.g., Svelte, React, Vue) and server-side languages such as Java
Demonstrated experience designing, building, and maintaining complex distributed systems and scalable web applications in production
Strong understanding of backend architecture, API design, microservices, and server-side integration patterns
Experience building in greenfield spaces and creating 0-1 products
A track record of mentoring other engineers, setting high bars for code quality, and building an inclusive, growth-oriented engineering culture
Demonstrable knowledge of using AI in a professional engineering environment
Background or interest in wealth management, fintech, or financial advisor workflows

A successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on the role, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for this role within the United States.
Compensation for this role includes base salary + bonus + equity + benefits.

Base Salary Range
$158,000—$248,000 USD
