The Opportunity at Komodo Health

Our Evidence Intelligence team applies health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) methods to real-world healthcare data, generating insights that shape decisions for the country's leading life sciences, provider, and payer organizations. We work at the intersection of clinical science, data analytics, and client strategy — increasingly powered by AI that lets us pair speed with quality, moving from data to decision faster than ever without compromising rigor, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions to the industry's most pressing challenges. This role also includes enablement and specialist support for Marmot, Komodo's AI platform, as we help clients and internal teams put it to work.

The Senior Research Consulting Manager is both a rigorous analytic lead and a trusted advisor to clients: someone equally comfortable designing a study, defending a methodology, and sitting across the table from a client stakeholder to translate findings into action. This role exists to advance Komodo Health's mission of empowering healthcare stakeholders with data-driven, AI-augmented solutions that improve patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have…

Led multiple client-facing research engagements from scoping through delivery, serving as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for key stakeholders.

Built and maintained strong, consultative relationships with client teams — proactively surfacing insights and shaping the ongoing research agenda through regular dialogue rather than one-off reports.

Developed innovative methodologies for analyzing real-world healthcare data, incorporating AI/ML and generative AI tools to accelerate analysis and improve rigor.

Established yourself as a subject matter expert in specific therapeutic areas or healthcare domains, recognized both internally and by clients.

Served as a go-to specialist for Marmot and AI-native workflows more broadly, enabling clients and colleagues to adopt and get value from Komodo's AI tools while mentoring the team on new approaches.

You will accomplish these outcomes through the following responsibilities…

Design and execute research studies using real-world healthcare data sources, applying both traditional statistical methods and emerging AI-enabled techniques.

Lead client conversations and working sessions — presenting findings, navigating questions in real time, and adjusting analysis based on client feedback.

Distill complex datasets into clear, actionable insights and communicate them through reports, presentations, and dialogue tailored to both technical and executive audiences.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, data science, clinical, sales) to integrate research insights into product development and strategy.

Evaluate and pilot new AI tools — including providing enablement and specialist support for Marmot — to improve research speed, quality, and client responsiveness, while staying current on emerging methodologies and technologies.

What you bring to Komodo Health (required):

PhD or equivalent advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics), or equivalent practical experience.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare research or analytics, preferably in a client-facing consulting or industry setting.

Demonstrated client relationship management skills — experience leading dialogue with client stakeholders, managing expectations, and translating ambiguous questions into a clear research plan.

Experience conducting end-to-end RWE/HEOR studies, from design through dissemination using descriptive and sophisticated analysis (e.g., PSM, IPTW, and related causal inference methods).

AI-native fluency or a strong willingness to adapt: hands-on experience using AI/LLM tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, Gemini, internal AI assistants) to accelerate research and analysis, or a demonstrated track record of quickly learning and adopting new AI tools.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and executive audiences.

Proven track record of leading and executing research projects from inception to completion.

Additional skills and experience we’d prioritize (nice to have)…

Experience working with real-world healthcare data sources (e.g., electronic health records, claims data).

Knowledge of healthcare industry trends, including regulatory, market, and AI-adoption dynamics.

Familiarity with advanced statistical methods for analyzing longitudinal or hierarchical data.

Experience building or using AI-powered analytics pipelines or prompt-based research tools.
