Sr. Linux Solutions Architect

POSITION SUMMARY
CIQ is looking for a skilled and customer-focused Sr. Solutions Architect to support CIQ’s go-to-market efforts in Japan. As the technical counterpart to the Sr, Account Executive, you will play a critical role in engaging prospects, enabling partners, and ensuring technical success across pre-sales and post-sales engagements. You will be responsible for designing solutions using CIQ’s product portfolio - including RLC, Fuzzball, Warewulf, and Apptainer - and guiding customers through their evaluation, adoption, and scaling journeys.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Senior Account Executive to understand customer needs, design appropriate solutions, and support sales opportunities.
Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and hands-on workshops to showcase CIQ solutions.
Lead technical discovery sessions, solution architecture design, and proof-of-concept deployments.
Provide guidance on infrastructure integration, deployment best practices, and performance tuning.
Support partner enablement by delivering technical training and architecture guidance to local system integrators and resellers.
Serve as a bridge between customers and CIQ engineering, advocating for product enhancements and roadmap alignment.
NEEDED TO SUCCEED
Successful candidates will be:
A senior-level technical expert with strong customer-facing experience and deep familiarity with Linux-based infrastructure.
Passionate about open source and confident in supporting performance-intensive environments (HPC, AI/ML, hybrid cloud).
Equally comfortable at the whiteboard, command line, and customer site (virtually or in person).
Experienced in collaborating with sales teams to close complex technical deals.
Fluent in Japanese and confident communicating in English (written and verbal).
A friendly, collaborative, humble, honest, and always striving to be better attitude.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
7+ years in technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, or systems engineering roles.
Expert-level knowledge of Linux, containerization, and systems integration.
Hands-on experience with HPC workload orchestration or parallel computing tools preferred.
Familiarity with Rocky Linux, Warewulf, Apptainer, or similar open-source infrastructure is a plus.
Proven ability to work independently and support multiple customer projects in a remote-first team.
