About the Role

We are seeking a Global Ops Trade and Compliance Manager to lead Verkada's international logistics, customs compliance, and supply chain operations. This role is responsible for managing global logistics networks, ensuring regulatory compliance across international markets, optimizing logistics costs, and driving strategic supply chain initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in international trade, customs clearance, and complex logistics operations across multiple regions.

What You'll Do

Optimize shipping methods and routes based on cost, speed, and service requirements; maintain and update global delivery matrices

Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics for multiple distribution hubs; oversee inventory movement and fulfillment operations

Monitor fulfillment costs by geography and implement cost optimization strategies; track KPIs including on-time delivery, cost per unit, and shipment accuracy

Handle exceptional shipments (hazmat, oversized, time-sensitive); ensure compliance with carrier and regulatory requirements

Lead customs clearance processes for all international shipments; prepare and review commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and export documentation

Manage relationships with customs brokers and international freight forwarders; ensure timely and accurate filing of customs documentation

Monitor and ensure compliance with country-specific import/export regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements (including USMCA, EU trade rules)

Navigate complex regulatory requirements by market including product certifications, NOMs (Mexican regulations), ERP memberships, and hazmat classifications

Support new market entry initiatives by researching regulatory requirements, identifying compliant logistics partners, and coordinating with brokers and legal teams

Stay current on changing international trade regulations and proactively alert leadership to impacts on operations

Lead initiatives to expand operations into new markets

Develop fulfillment roadmaps and long-term supply chain strategies to support business growth

Collaborate with product, engineering, and finance teams on transfer pricing, cost modeling, and product compliance requirements

Identify and implement process improvements using data analysis and industry best practices

Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for all logistics and customs processes

Partner with fulfillment and customer service teams on order processing, exceptions, and customer issues

Work with legal and compliance teams on regulatory and trade matters

Coordinate with finance on shipping costs, freight billing, and duty/tariff reconciliation

Support sales and business development with shipping cost estimates and delivery capability assessments for new markets

What You Bring

10+ years of supply chain management experience, with at least 6 years in international logistics and customs/trade compliance

Deep knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, tariffs, and trade agreements

Proven experience managing relationships with 3PLs, customs brokers, and freight forwarders

Experience with customs clearance, commercial documentation, and import/export compliance across multiple countries

Strong analytical skills with ability to manage data, identify trends, and optimize operations

Excellent project management skills; ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, International Trade, or related field

Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish highly valuable

APICS CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or equivalent supply chain certification

Customs broker license or equivalent trade compliance certification (C-TPAT, FMC certification)

Experience with logistics management software systems (CampusShip, eFactory, SFDC, SAP, or similar)

Background in high-tech hardware manufacturing or e-commerce fulfillment

Experience managing hazmat shipments and regulatory compliance

Experience with transfer pricing and international operations for tax optimization

Familiarity with Mexico customs regulations and market entry requirements

Experience scaling supply chain operations during rapid business growth

International Trade Expertise: Deep understanding of customs, tariffs, trade agreements, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions

Vendor Management: Ability to build strong partnerships, negotiate effectively, and manage vendor performance

Problem-Solving: Analytical approach to identifying root causes and implementing solutions for logistics challenges

Communication: Clear, professional communication across technical and non-technical audiences; ability to explain complex trade/customs concepts

Project Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage projects with multiple stakeholders

Attention to Detail: Precision with documentation, compliance, and regulatory requirements where accuracy is critical

Strategic Thinking: Ability to balance operational efficiency with long-term supply chain strategy

Adaptability: Comfort operating in a fast-growing environment with changing requirements and new market launches

Estimated 10-15% travel, primarily for vendor visits, broker meetings, and site inspections at distribution hubs.

Annual Pay Range

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs)

Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).
