Sr. Fabricator
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Fabricator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining and fabrication, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role will involve enhancing our fabrication and machining capabilities, solving intricate problems, and contributing to the successful electrification of medium duty trucks. A significant portion of the work will focus on creating vehicle prototypes and manufacturing tooling.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precision machining and fabrication, including hands-on experience with CNC setup, operation, and CAD/CAM programming.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabrication & Machining: Perform high-precision fabrication and machining of components, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
Vehicle Prototypes: Assist in the development and fabrication of vehicle prototypes, working closely with the engineering team to bring innovative designs to life.
Manufacturing Tooling: Design, fabricate, and maintain custom tooling and fixtures to support the production process and improve efficiency.
Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain a variety of machines, including lathes, mills, welding equipment, and CNC machines (optional)
Process Optimization: Implement and optimize fabrication processes to increase production efficiency and reduce waste.
Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve machining and fabrication challenges, providing innovative solutions to complex problems.
Equipment Expansion: Assist in the expansion of our shop’s capabilities by introducing new equipment and technologies.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure seamless integration of fabricated components into our electrification projects.
Safety & Maintenance: Adhere to safety protocols, perform regular maintenance on machines, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Fabricator or Machinist, preferably in the automotive industry.
Proficiency in operating lathes, mills, and welding equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Certification in welding or machining is a plus.
Proficiency in operating CNC machines is a plus.
Experience with CAD/CAM software is a plus.

$100,000—$140,000 USD
