Software Engineer, Growth Conversion
About the Role
New York Times Conversion helps customers understand subscription benefits from NYT's US, International news and standalone applications through to the purchase and onboarding flows. The team consists of engineers, designers, data analysts and product managers focusing on shipping user-centered, experiment-driven features.
As a Full Stack Software engineer on Conversion, your work will have a directly quantifiable impact on the bottom line of the Times, ensuring the work of our world-leading journalists. You will engineer features across desktop and mobile that promote understanding of subscription benefits no matter where they are in the user experience. Web Conversion approaches this by optimizing conversion surfaces through sales, free trial and directing users to high value surfaces such as native apps.
You will work in React and TypeScript on the frontend, Node.js for web applications, and Go-based APIs, all running on the AWS cloud platform. You will help develop, test, and operate features end-to-end, from idea to production, alongside a collaborative team that values learning and continuous improvement.
We value collaboration, transparency and openness, diversity, learning, community and continuous improvement. Our team builds great things through collaboration with other team members and with our partners on platform teams. You will report to the Engineering Manager of the Subscription Conversion team.
