Greenhouse is searching for a Software Engineer to join our team!

As a member of the Greenhouse Engineering team, you will actively contribute to a swift software release cycle and drive the development of new products for our customers, helping us make hiring work for everyone! You'll contribute to key projects, collaborate with product and design, and partner with fellow engineers for pair programming while also working independently to contribute code.

What you’ll do

Contribute across the entire software development lifecycle, including implementation, delivery, and maintenance

Work independently to contribute code and identify areas of refactoring and gain a strong understanding of the codebase

Write clean and efficient production code for the services that power Greenhouse

Collaborate with other engineers and teams to deliver new features

Review code from peers and provide constructive feedback

Assist in maintaining and improving code quality by testing and debugging

Work with Product Managers and Designers to understand requirements and contribute to product development

You should have

2+ years experience in contributing production code (required)

Experience contributing to projects, helping drive them to completion (required)

Experience with Ruby, C#, Java, or Python (Ruby preferred)

Direct experience with AI and agentic software development (Claude code, Codex, etc)

Proficient understanding of Javascript or Typescript fundamentals, including React

Experience working in the full stack

Proficient understanding of architectural patterns

REST/web development experience

Experience partnering closely with Product and Design partners

Experience with Rails, preferred

Experience with authorization and permissions, a plus

The national pay range for this role is $105,800 - $132,300 CAD. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. Certain roles may be eligible for additional compensation, including stock option awards, bonuses, and merit increases. Additionally, certain roles have the opportunity to receive sales commissions that are based on the terms of the sales commission plan applicable to the role.
