Why this role matters:

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join a team responsible for a modern, event-driven microservices platform built on Kafka.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring system quality, writing and maintaining automated tests and actively monitoring system health across test and production environments.

Your key responsibilities:

Write and maintain domain tests verifying Kafka message flows between microservices.

Write and maintain E2E smoke and regression tests ensuring test coverage across all production environments.

Monitor smoke, regression and domain test results across test and production environments using Grafana dashboards

Analyze application logs in a centralized log management tool (SolarWinds) during incidents or test failures.

Create, maintain, and organize test cases in TestRail.

Define acceptance criteria and test scenarios during story kickoffs.

Define and maintain the test strategy for the domain

What you'll bring

2+ years of professional experience in automation testing using Playwright and TypeScript.

Previous working experience with messaging and monitoring tools (Kafka, Grafana).

Hands-on experience working in Docker and AWS test infrastructure.

Experience in test management and log analysis (TestRail).

Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)

Strong English skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed, multicultural environment.

Experience we consider a plus:

Background in microservice architecture.

Familiarity with performance testing tools.

Willingness to use AI tools in day-to-day work - in particular AI coding assistants (e.g. Copilot, Claude Code) for writing/refactoring tests, analyzing failures and interpreting logs.
