SOC Analyst I

Clearance: Secret

Location:  Leesburg, VA Onsite

Shift: Night Team B- Alternating Wednesday's, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 7PM-7AM

The ideal candidate will have experience in a network security or SOC environment, a solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, and the ability to identify, document, and escalate security events in accordance with established procedures.

Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze cybersecurity events using SOC tools.

Identify, investigate, and appropriately handle Events of Interest (EOIs).

Escalate cybersecurity events and incidents in accordance with established procedures.

Generate incident response documentation and reports.

Process incident-related communications, including initial notifications, follow-ups, requests for information, status updates, and resolution activities.

Document and track cybersecurity incidents through resolution.

Follow established security operations, incident response, and reporting procedures.

Collaborate with SOC and cybersecurity personnel to support timely resolution of security events.

Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, network security, a SOC, or a related IT security environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.

Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

Experience with security monitoring, event analysis, incident handling, or related SOC functions.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Active Secret security clearance required.

Virginia Pay Range

$70,000—$90,000 USD
