Senior Video Content Director - Workato Creative + Video Team
Responsibilities
As Senior Video Content Director for the Workato Creative + Video Team, you're the creative force behind the stories we tell on screen. You don't just execute scripts: you help find the story in the first place, then direct it into something that excites and delights our audience. You'll bring commercial-grade visual craft and a genuine storytelling instinct to everything from brand films and product launches to event keynote openers and customer stories, working on our highest-profile and most complex productions. You will brainstorm and shape narrative direction from the earliest stages, and then take it all the way through to the final cut.
In this role, you will also be responsible to:
Creative Concepting & Storytelling
Partner with stakeholders, writers, and creative leads in the brainstorming and concepting phase by contributing story ideas, narrative structure, and creative angles before a script or brief is finalized
Help write and shape scripts, treatments, and narrative outlines, bringing a director's eye for how a story will actually play on screen
Bring commercial and narrative sensibility to enterprise/B2B storytelling by finding the human, emotional core in content that could otherwise feel corporate
Directing & Production
Direct the team's highest-profile or most complex video productions independently, including flagship brand films, major event keynotes, and marquee customer stories
Communicate a clear creative vision across all stages of production, from concept through final cut
Direct talent including internal subject-matter experts, executives, and professional actors alike to deliver authentic, compelling performances
Make shot-level and story-level creative decisions independently: composition, blocking, pacing, tone
Creative Leadership & Influence
Set the visual and narrative standard the team can look to
Offer creative input that shapes production strategy and storytelling approach across projects beyond your own, without formal management scope
Mentor other craft-focused contributors informally, through example, on-set collaboration, and feedback in the edit
Partner with producers and editors to protect creative intent from concept through final cut
Partner with creative and production leadership to ensure ambitious creative visions are achievable within scope and budget
Requirements
Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills
Sustained track record of producing and directing high-caliber work across a range of formats and production scales with a reel demonstrating range and consistency at a senior level
Brainstorming and writing abilities: contributing to scripts, treatments, and creative concepts alongside writers
Ability to direct a range of talent, including senior executives, third-party speakers, and high-stakes live settings
Deep fluency in the full production process, sufficient to problem-solve creatively under real-world constraints without owning production logistics
Versatility to step into producer or DP responsibilities on smaller or resource-constrained shoots when needed
Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics
Strong storytelling instinct: able to originate ideas and shape narrative from the concept stage, not just execute a finished script
Demonstrated ability to influence creative decisions and storytelling approach
Able to work within brand guidelines while pushing the team's creative ambition further
The base salary range for this position is $110,000 – $130,000 annually and may include equity, benefits, and other components, subject to local eligibility requirements and employment type.
