Senior Trading Risk Control Specialist
What You’ll Do
Develop and continuously improve risk and surveillance strategies for identifying abusive or manipulative activity across spot, perpetual futures, options, and related trading products.
Investigate potentially coordinated or suspicious trading activity using order-flow analysis, self-trading and crossing behaviours, order-book signals, and account-linkage indicators.
Define behavioural patterns for new or evolving manipulation methods, particularly in thinly traded assets, leveraged instruments, and liquidation-driven market events.
Assess the impact of identified risks, including possible market disruption, financial exposure, and concentration of risk, to inform prioritisation and leadership reporting.
Partner with Product, Compliance, and other relevant teams to design, test, and implement appropriate monitoring rules and risk controls.
Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to translate trading-risk concepts into effective detection logic, models, and monitoring workflows.
What You Bring
Practical experience trading or managing risk in derivatives, with strong knowledge of futures, perpetual swaps, and options.
Solid understanding of leverage, margin requirements, liquidation processes, insurance-fund structures, and auto-deleveraging mechanisms.
Demonstrated experience in trading-risk management, market surveillance, or preventing market-abuse activity such as spoofing, layering, wash trading, front-running, or misuse of privileged information.
Strong analytical ability; advanced SQL skills are essential, and Python experience is highly desirable.
Ability to independently create and validate detection approaches using order-level and trade-level data.
A mindset that anticipates how bad actors may build positions, obscure their behaviour, and exploit market or product mechanics.
