We are responsible for driving system design, for verifying and validating the stack, and for defining, measuring, and validating system performance targets. We work closely with stakeholders in autonomy, infrastructure, and operations to build the definitive safety case for the commercial launch of our fully driverless IONIQ 5 Robotaxis in Las Vegas later this year.

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to play a critical role in defining our operating domain, enabling us to guide development, quickly scale existing operations, and expand to new cities.

What You'll Do:

Define the ODD: Define the Operating Domain such that it serves stakeholders’ needs.  This includes engineering teams that will use this definition to automate testing and coverage analysis.

Verify the ODD: Collaborate with engineering teams to set constraints on maps used for specific deployments.  Perform the verification ensuring map releases comply with performance constraints.

Develop AI-Powered Tools for Expansion: Develop AI-powered tools to measure and visualize ODD expansion opportunities.  Your tools and analysis will guide autonomy development for optimized scaling.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Serve as a primary point of contact for systems, autonomy, mapping teams to understand needs.

Document and Share Knowledge: Create clear documentation for analysis tools to enable others to leverage the tools you develop.

What We're Looking For:

2+ years of engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.

Strong proficiency in Python and a strong understanding of modern software development principles and production best practices.

Experience with database querying and visualization such as SQL, Looker

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in the context of complex system performance evaluation and data analysis.

Proficient with Git and standard version control workflows.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and results to diverse audiences (engineers, product managers, leadership).
