Senior Sustaining Electrical Engineer
Echodyne is seeking a Senior Sustaining Electrical Engineer to join our fast-growing team.
ROLE OVERVIEW
Echodyne is seeking a Senior Electrical Sustaining Engineer to join our Sustaining Engineering team. This role is responsible for ensuring the long-term performance, reliability, manufacturability, and supportability of Echodyne’s fielded and in-production radar products.
In this role, you will partner closely with Sustaining Engineering peers and collaborate with Electrical Design, Systems, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to investigate issues, resolve defects, and implement durable design improvements across the product lifecycle.
Echodyne builds compact solid-state true beam-steering radars that integrate advanced analog, mixed-signal, digital, power, and embedded subsystems. Sustaining these products requires deep circuit-level expertise, disciplined root-cause analysis, and strong ownership of product health in production and in the field.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, verify, and document sustaining design updates driven by reliability, yield, component lifecycle, or manufacturability needs
Evaluate components, material and supplier alternates and support qualification of replacements for EOL or supply-chain risk mitigation
Develop ECO packages, sustaining documentation, and release artifacts
Lead root-cause investigations, failure analysis, and corrective/preventative actions for analog and mixed-signal circuits and subsystems
Perform advanced debugging and characterization of mixed-signal PCB assemblies in lab and production environments
Partner with Manufacturing and Test teams to improve test coverage, debug flows, and production yield
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Background in analog and mixed-signal circuit theory and hands-on circuit analysis
Ability to interpret schematics and guide circuit-level design changes with an understanding of system-level interactions
Working knowledge of power integrity, signal integrity, and mixed-signal layout considerations
Understanding of low-speed and mixed-signal interfaces such as SPI, I2C, GPIO, and clocking architectures
Familiarity with DFx practices including DFM, DFA, and DFT for manufacturable electronics
Experience collaborating in a cross-functional hardware development and production environment
Experience leading RCA and CAPA efforts for production or fielded hardware
Experience debugging and sustaining PCB assemblies that include analog, digital, power, and programmable devices
Experience troubleshooting circuits using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, and related lab equipment
DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
(Looking for one or more as a complement to the core skills)
Familiarity with SPICE simulation for analysis of existing or modified circuits
Scientific scripting or data analysis skills using Python or MATLAB
QUALIFICATIONS
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field
6 or more years of hands-on experience with analog and mixed-signal printed circuit assemblies, including debugging, verification, and production support
Eligibility to handle export-controlled information (ITAR/EAR)
