At ServiceTrade, you’ll build technology that matters — for your career, your team, and the thousands of commercial contractors who rely on our platform every day. We’re on a mission to partner with commercial trades to deliver technology that enhances technician productivity, improves customer experiences, and drives scalable growth.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) who’s excited to make an impact. In this role, you will be responsible for expanding our core product by designing and constructing powerful new capabilities on top of our existing application ecosystem. You will bridge the gap between user experience and backend infrastructure, taking total ownership of these new initiatives from architectural integration to deployment.

Why ServiceTrade:

You’ll belong here from the start.

We bring together kind, curious people with diverse perspectives and trust them with meaningful work. You’ll have ownership, clarity, and support to solve real problems, make a visible impact for our customers, and continue growing as your role evolves.

On the Engineering team, you’ll have the opportunity to write clean, high-performance code, ensure new features seamlessly integrate with our current systems, and collaborate closely with product and design to execute our expanding roadmap.

About You:

You've spent years building complex full-stack applications and love taking features end-to-end—from initial architecture to cloud deployment. You think in systems, bringing deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, PHP, and APIs to integrate new capabilities into existing platforms. You're forward-thinking, using AI tools like Cursor or Copilot to move faster without sacrificing quality. Above all, you take total ownership and effortlessly bridge the gap between product vision and backend execution.

Key Responsibilities and Activities:

New Feature Delivery: Design, build, test, and deploy robust, scalable, and secure full-stack features that integrate seamlessly with our existing platform architecture.

Architecture & Integration: Lead the architectural design of new components and microservices, ensuring they align with existing systems while optimizing for speed, scalability, and uptime.

API Development: Build and maintain secure, high-throughput RESTful APIs to support new front-end capabilities.

Frontend Excellence: Create intuitive and responsive user interfaces that deliver exceptional user experiences across all devices.

Code Quality & Mentorship: Advocate for engineering best practices by conducting thorough code reviews and writing comprehensive unit/integration tests.

DevOps & CI/CD: Maintain and improve CI/CD deployment pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud monitoring systems for new feature releases.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and data teams to align technical roadmaps with business objectives.

Quality Ownership: Own the quality of delivered code by creating appropriate unit, component, and integration automated tests where needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

Required Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of shipping production-grade full-stack features within existing codebases.

Frontend Stack: Mastery of modern JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React.js (preferred), Vue.js, or Angular, along with HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and state management.

Backend Stack: Strong expertise in PHP (preferred), Node.js, Python (Django/FastAPI), or similar, alongside asynchronous, event-driven programming.

Databases: Deep knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis) databases, including schema design and query optimization.

Cloud & DevOps: Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab).

System Design & Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of software design patterns, microservices, and security best practices (OWASP Top 10).

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

AI Acceleration: Experience using generative AI development tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or Copilot, for greater productivity.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with serverless architectures and cloud-native scaling strategies.

Experience migrating or refactoring legacy system components during new feature implementation.

Active contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal engineering projects.

Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with rapid, iterative release cycles.

Experience building form based survey style systems.

Some experience with mobile application development.
