Senior Proposal Manager
About the role
The Senior Proposal Manager is responsible for leading Muon Space's high-priority proposal efforts and capture materials, driving technical and business strategy from opportunity identification through contract award. This role provides cross-functional leadership across Engineering, Business Development, Program Management, Finance, Contracts, and Executive Leadership to develop winning, compliant, and differentiated proposals while establishing scalable capture processes across the company.
This position can be performed remotely from an approved location.
Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional teams to develop compliant, compelling, and differentiated technical proposals.
Develop best practices, processes and materials to enable Muon to deliver compelling proposals.
Partner with executive leadership, Business Development, Engineering, Program Management, Finance, and Manufacturing to define materials, themes and messaging in support of key capture activities.
Develop technical win themes, discriminators, and solution strategies aligned with customer mission needs and Muon capabilities.
Lead proposal planning, schedules, reviews, and executive decision gates across multiple concurrent pursuits
Ensure compliance with RFPs, BAAs, RFIs, and other government solicitations.
Perform competitive analysis, customer assessments, acquisition strategy analysis, and risk identification.
Develop and continuously improve company-wide capture processes, proposal libraries, reusable content, and best practices.
Lead proposal retrospectives and drive continuous improvement
Mentor technical contributors on capture best practices.
Influence long-term growth strategy by identifying emerging customer needs and market opportunities.
Required Qualifications
10+ years leading technical captures, strategic proposals, or business pursuits.
Demonstrated success leading complex captures from opportunity shaping through contract award.
Experience translating customer mission needs into executable spacecraft or mission solutions.
Experience leading cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Strong knowledge of U.S. Government acquisition processes (FAR/DFARS, RFPs, BAAs, OTAs preferred).
Excellent technical writing, presentation, and executive communication skills.
Ability to balance technical, schedule, cost, and execution tradeoffs.
Strong organizational and project leadership skills.
Active clearance (TS)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with spacecraft design, satellite manufacturing, payloads, mission operations, or launch integration.
Experience supporting DoD, Space Force, SDA, NRO, NASA, or commercial space customers
Experience building capture frameworks or proposal operations in a high-growth environment.
Salary
The salary range for this role is $149,000 - $218,000, plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
