We have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding individual to join our team as a Engineer IV at our headquarters in Fullerton, California. Qualified individuals with at least 8+ years of professional experience are encouraged to apply.

Acts in responsible charge of projects.
Leads tasks and projects of moderately complex scopes.
Develops plans, specifications, and other project documents.
Selects appropriate principles of engineering economics, and probability and statistics to analyze risk in a complex civil engineering problem.

Critical Tasks and Responsibilities
Manage workload of other engineering staff
Staff performance reviews
Meet with clients regarding work and performance of team, and regarding current and future work
Pursue/Acquire work with clients.
Write and review proposals and scopes of work
Negotiate work with clients
Prepare project concepts through final design plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) bid packages
Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control
Solve design problems using engineering calculations and following general design standards
Prepare complete engineering reports related to civil site improvements, storm drainage, water distribution and transmission systems, pumping systems, pipelines, utilities, streets and roadways, bikeways, sanitary sewer collection systems, and water and wastewater facilities
Prepare project drawings/designs in AutoCAD Civil3D
Provide comments and markups to PS&E documents.
Utilize AutoCAD Civil3D to establish horizontal and vertical alignments, profiles, cross sections, and perform earthwork calculations
Serve on project teams under the supervision of CWE Project/Program Managers and/or Directors/Principals
Complete assignments on time and within budget and achieve firm’s quality objectives
Interact with public and private clients and stakeholders
Interact with multi-discipline and multi-office teams
Develops and reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
Typically, in responsible charge of projects.
Keeps informed of updates to standards, regulations, and best practices.
Analyzes complex civil engineering projects to determine design requirements, uncertainties, and constraints.
Acknowledges and applies concepts of sustainability to civil engineering projects.
Required Competencies and Qualifications
8+ Years of Experience in Civil Engineering or related field.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or other Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years’ Architect-Engineering (AE) industry experience.
California Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Civil Engineering, or 12+ years of AE experience.
Ability to use AutoCAD Civil 3D software
Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, etc.).
Ability to use ESRI ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or related geospatial software
Proficient in PDF software, such as Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
Abilities to grasp and become proficient in new software and technologies
Ability to pay attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Demonstrates a strong work ethic.
Good interpersonal abilities for working in a team environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.
