Position Overview

The Senior Medical Director, Medical Strategy & Scientific Affairs is responsible for leading the strategic direction and hands-on creation of high-quality medical and scientific content across multiple therapeutic areas. This role holds overall accountability for the medical and scientific integrity of both ongoing medical education programs and new business proposals. The Senior Medical Director will work on high-profile and strategic projects, with significant visibility both within the company and with clients. This position involves frequent interactions with clients and internal teams, ensuring alignment and effective communication. The Senior Medical Director will manage a team that includes Associate Medical Directors, Medical Writers, and Medical Interns, while also serving as a key liaison across various departments. The role requires the development of strong professional relationships with key customers and active participation in the creation of new service offerings that address the evolving needs of Evolution’s pharmaceutical clients.

Role Requirements:

Engages in meetings and strategic conversations with clients to provide insight and guidance.

Contributes to the execution of deliverables for various programs and projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and content requirements.

Oversees the development and completion of medical advertising and communication projects, including writing, editing, and production, ensuring the quality, scientific accuracy, and timely delivery of assigned work.

Collaborates with clients to define and develop promotional medical materials that align with project goals.

Prepares various meeting summaries, such as executive summaries, top-line overviews, and key highlights.

Participates in brainstorming and concept development sessions for new materials.

Ensures that written content aligns with project goals and effectively conveys the necessary scientific, medical, and marketing messages when applicable.

Proactively communicates with the account team about any potential challenges (e.g., deadlines, hours, budgets) that could impact project completion and proposes solutions that meet both client and agency needs.

Maintains adherence to project parameters, including deadlines, budgets, and content restrictions.

Monitors the progress of researchers, copyeditors, and freelance writers/editors throughout the development process to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in biomedical sciences, such as a PhD, PharmD, or MD.

Solid scientific knowledge with the ability to quickly familiarize oneself with various therapeutic areas and treatments.

In-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, MLR guidelines, and FDA regulations.

Strong scientific expertise with the ability to research, comprehend, and clearly summarize complex scientific concepts.

A proactive problem solver and team player who actively contributes insights to cross-functional teams.

Capable of maintaining professionalism and composure in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $170,000

BGBx is headquartered in New York City, and the salary range listed reflects the expected base compensation for this role in the New York City metropolitan area. This position may be performed remotely within the United States. For candidates located outside the New York City area, compensation will be adjusted to reflect the applicable market for the employee’s primary work location. Final compensation will be determined based on geographic location, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
