Senior Manager, Engineering - Lifecycle Management

We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to work on our Onboarding and Lifecycle Management (LCM) Platform team with a focus on enhancing, scaling, and managing backend services for managing the user lifecycle and associated access policies (users, groups, roles, entitlements, etc.). These features allow customers the flexibility to link and enhance their business processes with Okta’s identity management product.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Define the team’s short-term and long-term strategy, working with Product Management.
Define the team's roadmap, success metrics, and priorities in close collaboration with product management and lead engineers. Maintain a balance between building sustainable, high-impact projects and shipping things quickly.
Understand the team’s feature roadmap at a detailed level, with the ability to speak to changes at a PR level, to other leads.
Hire and create career paths within your team for engineers.
Provide guidance on topics like feature flags, CI pipelines and technical debt. And drive measurable improvements in technical debt.
Define SLOs and metrics for the team to adhere to, and measure them.
Demonstrable ability to drive a team where there is a lack of an established roadmap; must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities
3+ years of experience managing software development engineering teams
Demonstrable prior experience working with a high scale software system. Must have prior experience as a software engineer.
You will be expected to be technical, and understand details like describing PRs, creating technical design wikis, and driving architecture discussions.
Work with engineering management and other teams to scope and plan engineering efforts and dependencies
Experience with cloud infrastructure, AWS strongly preferred
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
