Data & Analytics

About The Team

The Data & Analytics team is Justworks' data center of excellence — a connected set of functions spanning analytics, data science, analytics engineering, data governance, and platform data/ML engineering. You'll find a highly collaborative group motivated by craft, shared learning, and a genuine commitment to growing our impact for customers.

Advanced Analytics is our decision intelligence team, helping leaders make the company's biggest bets: where to invest, what to charge, and what plan to commit to.

Who You Are

You are an experienced analytics leader with a rigorous mindset and a strong eye for how decisions get made. You work on the decisions that shape the business: How should we split next year's marketing budget? What should we charge for a new product? Which customers are worth the most to acquire and keep? What plan should we commit to?

This role owns the models behind those decisions. You choose the right method for each question, build it with your team, and stand behind the recommendation when leaders act on it. You're comfortable with imperfect data and with problems where a clean experiment isn't possible. You can explain forecasts, experiments, and models to both technical and non-technical audiences, and you are clear about the tradeoffs and uncertainty in every call.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Analytics, you'll build and lead a team of data scientists focused on advanced analytics for Finance, Marketing, and Product Marketing. Work will include pricing analysis, forecasting, MMM, etc. We have done this work for years, however this is a new team built to give it dedicated focus, depth, and a long-term roadmap.

What You Will Work On

Team Leadership

Build and lead a team of data scientists through hiring, professional development, goal-setting, feedback, and recognition

Develop and implement a roadmap for Advanced Analytics aligned with Justworks strategic priorities and the decisions Finance, Marketing, and Product Marketing need to make

Set clear standards for when a decision calls for a quick analysis, an experiment, or a model

Decision Intelligence

Financial and business modeling - revenue, churn, and lifetime value models that shape annual plans, targets, and investment choices

Marketing mix modeling - guide how marketing budget is allocated across channels, including offline and out-of-home

Pricing and monetization - pricing research such as conjoint analysis and willingness to pay, to inform what we charge and how we package it

Causal inference and incrementality - establish what actually drives results using experiments, holdouts, geo tests, and quasi-experimental methods

Partnership & Standards

Partner with business leaders to go beyond the initial request, frame the decision, and design the right technical approach

Own the methods behind the team's models, and partner with Data Governance and Analytics Engineering so those models are built on trusted data that executives can rely on

Set the standard for AI-assisted analytics, including where AI tools are used, where human review is required, and how analysis and model outputs are validated

Perform other related responsibilities as needed based on department and/or organizational needs

How You Will Do Your Work

In the Senior Manager, Advanced Analytics, how results are achieved is paramount for your success and ultimately result in our success as an organization. In this role, your foundational knowledge, skills, abilities and personal attributes are anchored in the following competencies:
