Senior Java Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a team that maintains and evolves mission-critical integration services. The stack is Java + Spring Boot, with REST integrations to third-party APIs, with a focus on both new features and the quality and maintainability of the system in production.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Java (17) / Spring Boot.

Build and maintain integrations with third-party REST APIs, including model mapping, contract versioning, and deserialization.

Write unit and integration tests and maintain solid test coverage.

Work on error handling, structured logging, and observability.

Participate in code reviews and propose architecture and quality improvements.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in backend development with Java and Spring Boot.

Solid experience building and consuming REST APIs.

Experience integrating third-party services.

Testing discipline: JUnit, integration tests, CI management.

Proficiency with Gradle (or Maven), Git, and working in large codebases.

Professional English, spoken and written (distributed team, async communication).

Nice to Have

Experience with observability (OpenTelemetry, metrics, tracing).

Experience with AWS.

Experience working with US enterprise clients.
