Position Overview
The Desktop Device & Engineering (DDE) Sr. Integration Engineer – Developer supports the enterprise endpoint engineering ecosystem within a large-scale, fast‑paced federal IT environment. This role serves as a development resource contributing to the design, maintenance, and support of applications and coded solutions across the enterprise.
Operating within a multi‑contractor, agency‑led delivery environment, the DDE Developer works closely with endpoint engineering, infrastructure, networking, security, and operations teams to design, build, and integrate software solutions. The ideal candidate is adaptable, technically versatile, and able to work independently across multiple development and engineering workstreams simultaneously.
Role Overview
The DDE Sr. Integration Engineer – Developer contributes to the design, development, and maintenance of applications and integrations supporting enterprise endpoint engineering. This role actively participates in scrum ceremonies and technical design discussions while building, evaluating, and improving solutions using C#, SQL Server, SharePoint, Microsoft Word automation, and other enterprise technologies.
The Developer applies strong software engineering practices to create secure, stable, and scalable tools that streamline endpoint operations and workflow automation across the environment. This includes collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure applications align with enterprise standards and support ongoing operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Development & Automation
Design, develop, test, and maintain Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) applications using C# language and .NET technologies.
Evaluate, troubleshoot, and enhance existing C# applications used across enterprise endpoint engineering workflows.
Build coded solutions and automation tools that integrate with Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Word, and SQL Server databases.
Design, maintain, and optimize relational databases, including writing SQL queries and supporting data-driven workflows.
Apply knowledge of file shares, file system permissions, and enterprise security structures when developing applications.
Collaborate with cross‑functional technical teams to ensure software solutions are effectively designed, integrated, tested, and deployed in alignment with enterprise standards.
Develop and execute unit testing and support system and integration testing activities.
Develop software using secure coding practices while adhering to enterprise cybersecurity and software development standards.
Participate in scrum ceremonies, technical working sessions, operational meetings, and collaboration forums.
Estimate development effort and contribute technical recommendations during solution design.
Utilize enterprise source control and version management practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Contribute to improving coding standards and software quality.
Develop and maintain documentation for software requirements, design decisions, development workflows, and operational procedures.
Optimize application performance, scalability, and maintainability through continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
HS diploma or GED and 18+ years of relevant professional experience or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field with 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise IT, software development, desktop engineering, systems administration, or related technical environments.
Experience developing enterprise applications using C# and .NET Framework or .NET platform and supporting Object-Oriented Programming solutions.
Demonstrated ability evaluating, troubleshooting, refactoring, and enhancing existing C#/.NET applications.
Experience with relational databases and SQL Server, including writing SQL queries and supporting SQL-based integrations.
Experience building solutions integrated with SharePoint, Microsoft Word automation, or workflow-driven applications.
Experience working in Agile or Scrum-based environments.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work across parallel development efforts within an Agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting large-scale federal or enterprise IT environments.
Understanding of Tachyon or Microsoft Power Apps when applicable (preferred but not required).
Exposure to enterprise deployment automation, scripting, or operational reporting tools.
Industry certifications such as Microsoft C# / .NET certifications, CompTIA ITF+, SQL Server certifications, Microsoft certifications (Specific to General Software Development), Microsoft Power Apps Developer, Microsoft Power Automate RPA Developer, or related credentials.
