Senior Global Benefits Manager
About the Team
Our Total Rewards team designs and runs the benefits programs that support Mixpanel employees around the world. We work closely with People, Finance, Legal, and regional teams to build programs that are fair, competitive, and easy to understand, because how we take care of our people is part of how we build trust across the company.
About the Role
As our Global Benefits Manager, you'll own how Mixpanel designs, delivers, and governs benefits programs across every country we operate in. You'll work independently on ambiguous, cross-functional problems, like a new country launch, a plan redesign, or an M&A integration, and turn them into clear, workable plans. People across HR, Finance, Legal, and regional teams will look to you as the person who understands both the details and the bigger picture of how benefits decisions affect our people and our business. This role doesn't manage people directly, but it does lead initiatives that span multiple functions and calls for confidence making decisions without a fully defined brief.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and ongoing improvement of health, retirement, wellness, and leave programs across multiple countries, balancing local requirements with one consistent philosophy.
Scope and lead ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives, such as country expansions, M&A integrations, and plan redesigns, by defining the problem, identifying the right stakeholders, and choosing an approach without a fully written brief.
Own vendor and broker relationships globally, including renewal negotiations, and hold partners accountable to cost and service commitments.
Serve as Mixpanel's go-to resource on benefits compliance (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, GDPR, and international equivalents), monitoring regulatory change and assessing its impact.
Analyze program cost and utilization data to find savings and inform annual budgeting, then turn findings into clear recommendations for leadership.
Build benefits education and self-service resources that make complex programs easy for employees to understand and use.
Apply AI and other new tools where they meaningfully speed up reporting, analysis, or employee support, and share what works with the wider People team.
We're Looking For Someone Who Has
Led complex, ambiguous, cross-functional projects independently, not just executed a defined process, and can point to specific examples.
A working understanding of benefits and employment compliance frameworks, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and international equivalents like GDPR.
Experience managing vendors, brokers, or carriers, including negotiating renewals and holding partners to service commitments.
A track record of turning cost and utilization data into a recommendation others can act on.
Comfort adopting new tools, including AI, to make existing work faster or better, and a habit of sharing what works with others.
Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to adjust tone for employees, partners, vendors, and senior leaders, especially when the news is complicated.
Sound judgment operating with a high degree of independence in a fast-changing, multi-country environment.
A degree in human resources, business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Bonus Points For
Experience with global benefits platforms such as Paylocity or Bswift.
Relevant certifications, such as CEBS, PHR, or SHRM-CP.
Experience supporting benefits through an M&A integration or new country entry.
Familiarity building benefits programs in a high-growth, distributed company.
