Senior Global Benefits Manager
About the Role
Coalition is hiring a Senior Global Benefits Manager to join the People Operations team and help deliver a reliable, scalable benefits experience for our distributed, international workforce.
This role will lead Coalition’s global benefits strategy and roadmap, including plan design, market competitiveness, regional harmonization, employee experience, and long-term program priorities. You will also lead day-to-day benefits administration and the ongoing operation of leave, retirement, pension, and other global benefits programs, while strengthening vendor management, compliance governance, employee support, and benefits data integrity. You will partner closely with People Operations, Payroll, Finance, Legal, HRIS, regional stakeholders, and external advisors to turn strategy into consistent, scalable global processes that reflect local requirements.
As a senior individual contributor and functional leader on a lean team, you will lead through influence and cross-functional partnership rather than direct people management. You will bring structure to complex work, strengthen operational controls and documentation, and help Coalition improve the employee experience as we scale.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead Coalition’s global benefits strategy and long-term roadmap, translating business and employee needs into competitive, consistent, and sustainable programs across markets.
Own and coordinate day-to-day benefits administration across Coalition’s global programs, including eligibility and data changes, enrollments, employee inquiries, escalations, audits, reconciliations, invoice review, vendor files, and recurring administration workflows, working with regional partners where local execution is required.
Lead strategic relationships with brokers, carriers, consultants, local providers, and internal stakeholders, as well as benefits renewals, open enrollment, implementations, integrations, and program changes across multiple countries.
Provide subject matter leadership for leave and absence, retirement, pension, savings, and related employer-sponsored programs, including administration, payroll coordination, contributions, reconciliations, compliance, and issue resolution.
Partner with HRIS, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and broader People team on benefits data, integrations, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost modeling, utilization analysis, audits, and operational controls.
Own benefits governance and build scalable People Operations infrastructure, including policies, standard operating procedures, process maps, benefits calendars, employee-facing resources, decision rights, service expectations, documentation standards, audit readiness, and recurring operating rhythms.
Lead broader People Operations initiatives and continuous improvement efforts, including new-country launches, acquisitions, integrations, employee lifecycle processes, technology enhancements, and responsible use of AI to improve efficiency, accuracy, and employee service.
What We Look For in You
8+ years of experience in global benefits, People Operations, HR operations, consulting, or a related field.
Experience administering global health and welfare, leave, retirement, and pension programs.
Experience with self-insured health plans, including claims, utilization, cost modeling, stop-loss, renewals, vendor management, and reconciliations.
Experience managing brokers, consultants, carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders across operations, renewals, implementations, and escalations.
Strong command of benefits data, eligibility, payroll coordination, reconciliations, audits, and controls.
Strong judgment, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity, build practical processes, and prioritize in a global organization.
Bonus Points
Experience supporting benefits in a high-growth technology, financial services, insurance, or similarly regulated environment.
Experience with global benefits governance, benchmarking, harmonization, or program design.
Experience supporting multi-country leave, pension, retirement savings, or statutory benefits programs.
Experience with mergers and acquisitions, post-close integration, new-country launches, or HRIS and payroll implementations.
