Senior Fullstack Engineer
We're looking for a Forward-deployed Engineer to sit at the intersection of Product Engineering and our Go-To-Market teams, embedded directly with partners and customers to ship integrations fast, acting as the primary technical owner for every integration in your portfolio.
You'll own the full integration lifecycle from qualification to handoff, working hands-on with technical and non-technical stakeholders on both sides. You'll write real code, shape the integration framework, and feed patterns back into the platform.
In this role, you will:
Own the full integration lifecycle for partners and customers who need hands-on delivery support, qualification, scoping, build, and handoff
Run Phase 0 qualification assessments — mapping systems, data flows, risk surface, and build approach before committing to timelines
Build and configure integration connectors, data mappings, and partner adapters using Clara's integration framework and shared libraries
Coordinate directly with partner technical teams throughout the build, acting as the primary technical point of contact
Partner with Platform/API squads to leverage core primitives (webhooks, auth patterns, event contracts) and flag reuse opportunities
Ensure every integration meets Clara's standards: idempotency, observability, secrets management, data minimization, and sandbox testing
Drive clean handoffs — delivering runbooks, dashboards, on-call assignments, and support playbooks before marking an integration as done
Feed learnings back into the platform: identify patterns that should become shared libraries or configuration
Who you are
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role.
Must haves:
Experience working directly with external partners or customers in a technical capacity, you're comfortable owning the relationship, not just the code
Working directly with end customers
Designing the solution from scratch to meet customer needs
Great communication skills
4+ years of backend software development experience, with hands-on exposure to API integrations, webhooks, and data mapping
Deep fluency in integration patterns: REST, event-driven architectures, OAuth/token management, idempotency
Ability to move fast in ambiguous environments: qualify a new integration request, scope it, and start building within days
Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (preferably Java) and comfort working across multiple systems and tech stacks
Working knowledge of observability fundamentals: logs, metrics, tracing, alerting, and SLOs
You use AI tools as a force multiplier, from scaffolding connectors to automating repetitive mapping work
Working proficiency in English and Spanish, or English and Portuguese
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
Exposure to integration platforms or connector frameworks (e.g. N8N, Zapier, or custom-built equivalents)
Nice to haves:
Experience in fintech, payments, or financial data infrastructure
Familiarity with PCI/PII data handling and compliance requirements
Experience with AWS, Kafka, or event streaming platforms
Proficiency in all three languages (Portuguese, Spanish, and English) is a strong plus
A good sense of humor
