Senior Frontend Engineer (Design System)
We're looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to own and evolve our design system - not just consume it. You'll turn Figma designs into reusable, accessible React + TypeScript components and drive their adoption across product teams.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain our component library (React + TypeScript): tokens, layout primitives, complex components.
Translate Figma designs into accessible, responsive, production-ready components.
Document components and usage guidelines in Storybook.
Own versioning/publishing of the library as an internal npm package.
Drive adoption across squads and prevent UI drift/duplication.
Ensure accessibility (WCAG/ARIA) and cross-browser consistency.
Mentor other frontend engineers on the design system.
Requirements:
5+ years frontend experience, strong React + TypeScript
Proven experience building or scaling a design system/component library — not just using one.
Strong grasp of component API design and reusable styling (CSS-in-JS, Tailwind, or similar).
Experience with Storybook and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1+).
Experience versioning/publishing internal npm packages.
Comfortable working directly from Figma, including design tokens.
AI-first workflow: regularly delegates real, multi-step tasks to AI coding agents (Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) — provides proper context, reviews diffs critically, verifies output, and has a clear process for when the AI gets it wrong.
Bonus: AI-native, not just AI-using — creates or customizes skills/MCP servers, manages context deliberately, picks the right model for the task, and can speak to specific failures and trade-offs (not just tool/brand names).
Nice to Have:
Design tokens tooling (Style Dictionary).
Prior experience as a design system owner/lead.
