Senior Enterprise Applications Developer (NetSuite)
Overview:
We are looking for a Senior NetSuite Developer to join the Enterprise Applications team within IT Information Systems. You will design, build and support custom solutions on the Oracle NetSuite platform using SuiteScript 2.x, SuiteFlow and the SuiteCloud Development Framework, and own the integrations that connect NetSuite to the wider application landscape. Working closely with Finance, Accounting and operational teams, you will turn complex business requirements into scalable, well-governed solutions. As a senior member of the team, you will also act as a technical lead and mentor, setting development standards and helping shape the long-term roadmap for our ERP platform.
What you will do:
Design, develop, test and deploy NetSuite customisations using SuiteScript 2.x (User Event, Client, Scheduled, Map/Reduce, Suitelet and RESTlet scripts), SuiteFlow workflows, custom records, fields and forms.
Partner with Finance, Accounting, Sales Operations and other business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical designs and solution documentation.
Build and maintain integrations between NetSuite and third-party systems (e.g. CRM, billing, banking, payroll and data platforms) using SuiteTalk REST/SOAP web services, RESTlets and integration middleware, with robust error handling and monitoring.
Build saved searches, SuiteQL queries, SuiteAnalytics workbooks, dashboards and Advanced PDF/HTML templates to meet business reporting and document needs.
Own the development lifecycle for NetSuite changes using the SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF), Git source control, peer code reviews and sandbox-to-production release management.
Ensure every change follows change-management and SOX/audit controls, including segregation of duties, role and permission design, and complete technical documentation.
Provide Tier 3 support for production issues, carrying out root-cause analysis and resolving defects quickly, especially during month-end and quarter-end close.
Monitor and optimise script performance and governance usage, and assess the impact of NetSuite’s twice-yearly releases on existing customisations.
Support data migrations, CSV imports and data-quality remediation as part of system enhancements and new implementations.
Mentor other developers, define coding standards and best practices, and keep up to date with NetSuite and SuiteCloud platform capabilities to recommend improvements.
What we are looking for:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field (equivalent work experience will be accepted in place of the education requirement).
7–10 years of hands-on NetSuite development experience, including end-to-end delivery of complex customisations and integrations.
7+ years of SuiteScript development (including extensive SuiteScript 2.x work across Map/Reduce, User Event, Scheduled, Suitelet and RESTlet scripts) and 5+ years designing and supporting NetSuite integrations with third-party systems.
Specific technical or software skills required: Expert JavaScript; SuiteScript 1.0 and 2.x; SuiteFlow; SuiteBuilder; SuiteTalk (REST and SOAP web services); SuiteQL and saved searches; Advanced PDF/HTML templates;
SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF); Git; REST, SOAP, JSON and XML; strong knowledge of NetSuite record structures and financial processes (GL, AR, AP, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay).
Oracle NetSuite SuiteCloud Developer II or SuiteFoundation certification is highly desirable.
Working knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and experience supporting finance systems in a SOX-compliant, audited environment.
Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to lead technical work independently and with minimal supervision.
AI Skills/Knowledge:
Practical use of AI coding assistants (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot) to speed up SuiteScript development, code review, unit testing and technical documentation, while validating AI-generated output for accuracy and security
Awareness of the AI and automation features embedded in Oracle NetSuite, and the ability to evaluate where they can improve finance and operational processes
Ability to identify opportunities to automate manual ERP processes through AI, workflow automation or intelligent integrations, and to shape the business case for them
Understanding of responsible AI use, including data privacy, security and governance considerations when AI tools are used with financial, employee or customer data
Preferred Skills:
Oracle NetSuite SuiteCloud Developer II, SuiteFoundation or ERP Consultant certification.
Hands-on experience with NetSuite modules such as Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), SuiteBilling, OneWorld (multi-subsidiary), multi-currency and Advanced Inventory.
Experience with integration platforms such as Celigo, Boomi, MuleSoft or Oracle Integration Cloud, plus CI/CD pipelines and automated testing (e.g. Jest with SuiteCloud Unit Testing).
Experience with SuiteCommerce / SuiteCommerce Advanced or SuiteApp development, and with Salesforce-to-NetSuite integrations.
