The Senior Director, Network Strategy will lead the development and execution of provider network strategy and contracting across WelbeHealth. The role combines strategic planning, operational leadership, and complex provider negotiations, with accountability for network adequacy, market expansion support, financial stewardship, and enterprise-wide collaboration. The Senior Director, Network Strategy will lead a team focused on network strategy and contracting, while partnering closely with Network Management, Operations, Finance, Analytics, Compliance, clinical leadership, and market teams. This role plays a key part in shaping how WelbeHealth builds provider relationships to support growth, participant access, and long-term value.

Combines strategic network leadership with hands-on provider contracting, providing the opportunity to shape how WelbeHealth builds, strengthens, and expands provider relationships while directly influencing network access, quality, and financial sustainability

Plays a critical role in WelbeHealth’s continued growth and market expansion, with a strong focus on California health system and provider relationships

On the day-to-day, you will:

Develop and lead enterprise network strategies across existing and emerging markets, supporting market expansion efforts by designing strategies aligned to growth plans and local market dynamics

Assess and monitor network adequacy to ensure participants have timely access to high-quality providers, specialists, hospitals, and ancillary services, as well as identify network gaps, access barriers, and market-specific needs, developing strategies to address them

Monitor industry trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive market conditions that may impact network development and strategy

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of network strategy and contracting professionals, including managers and directors, providing strategic guidance and operational support to regional and field-based team members

Foster strong collaboration across departments including Finance, Analytics, Operations, clinical leadership, Compliance, and growth teams

Lead outreach and complex negotiations with hospitals, health systems, large physician groups, and other strategic provider partners

Explore innovative contracting approaches tied to outcomes such as improved participant access, care coordination, medical record retrieval, quality performance, and operational responsiveness

Job requirements include:

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in provider network strategy and managed care contracting

Must have experience leading negotiations with hospitals, health systems, and large provider organizations

Knowledge of network adequacy standards, provider operations, reimbursement methodologies, and value-based care models

Must have demonstrated success building provider networks across multiple markets or regions, with a focus on California

Must have experience within Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, PACE, or value-based care environments

Two (2) years of supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members

Strong leadership experience managing high-performing teams in a matrixed organization

Compensation consists of base salary plus bonus. WelbeHealth offers a competitive total rewards package that includes a 401(k) match, comprehensive healthcare coverage, and a broad range of additional benefits. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and relevant qualifications.
