About the Role
The Senior Data Management Partner is a senior individual contributor on the Data Management team.This role independently leads both complex projects, and time-sensitive employee data work and uses sound judgment to make decisions within established policies, controls, and compliance requirements.
In partnership with the Data Management manager, this person will help build the infrastructure for how the team operates, including its processes, controls, documentation, metrics, and quality standards. The role works closely with HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, and People Operations to strengthen data integrity, improve operational efficiency, and support a reliable employee experience.
What You'll Do
Employee Lifecycle Transactions
Execute and oversee complex or time-sensitive Workday transactions, including hires, job changes, and terminations.
Support Workday EIB processing and bulk data updates, validating inputs and results.
Maintain employee records and upload or manage supporting documentation in accordance with data privacy and retention requirements.
Support benefits and payroll data entry, updates, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
Assess urgent or ambiguous cases, determine appropriate next steps, and escalate material risks or policy questions promptly.
Data Quality, Audits, and Compliance
Design, implement, document, and train the Data Management team on SOX readiness audits for hires and terminations.
Establish and maintain audit practices, data quality controls, and scorecards that promote accurate and complete employee records.
Monitor pending and aged transactions, identify root causes, and coordinate follow-up to keep work moving within established timelines.
Coordinate with internal partners and support internal or external audits by providing accurate records, evidence, and process documentation.
Team Infrastructure and Process Improvement
Partner with the Data Management manager to establish the team’s operating model, including workflows, roles, service expectations, quality standards, and escalation paths.
Consult with the team on procedures, job aids, and process documentation that support consistent execution and team onboarding.
Identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve controls, reduce manual work, and prevent errors.
Lead payroll process optimization and Data Management process cleanup.
Partner with Data Management Manager to develop team reporting, operational metrics, and review practices to improve visibility into workload, service delivery, and data quality.
Partner with the Data Management Manager to prepare processes to be automation ready and identify and prioritize automation opportunities.
Reporting, Data Requests, and Integration Support
Partner with the HRIS team to identify Workday Reporting gaps and build out reports libraries within Workday.
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports, Workday, and downstream systems.
Support integration activities, including hiring, cost center and location setup, testing, and related employee data work.
Partner with HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, and People Operations to resolve data issues and coordinate process changes.
Skills We're Looking For
5–7 years of experience working with Workday in HR data management or a related People Operations function.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex workloads, prioritize competing deadlines, and make sound decisions in time-sensitive situations.
Experience designing or improving operational processes, controls, audits, documentation, or team workflows.
Strong understanding of employee data privacy, compliance requirements, and the importance of accurate records.
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy, with the ability to identify inconsistencies and address root causes.
Clear communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to train colleagues and coordinate across teams.
Availability to work 1:00 a.m.–10:30 a.m. Pacific Time.
