Position Overview
Jensen Hughes is seeking a BIM Coordinator to join our expanding Phoenix, AZ team, and support large-scale, technically complex projects. This role is responsible for coordinating BIM models, driving clash resolution, and ensuring alignment between design, engineering, and field execution.
The BIM Coordinator plays a key role in model-based project delivery, supporting both design coordination and construction implementation in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities
Model Coordination & Integration
Coordinate and manage BIM models (fire protection, life safety) across all project stakeholders
Perform and lead regular clash detection using Navisworks, facilitating resolution workflows and tracking issues through closure
Ensure models are constructible, coordinated, and aligned with field installation requirements
Project BIM Execution
Support and enforce the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), including modeling standards, naming conventions, and workflows
Maintain model health, integrity, and version control across all project files
Drive consistency in Level of Design (LOD) requirements, model updates, and deliverables across trades
Field & Design Coordination
Act as a bridge between design teams and field operations, ensuring models accurately reflect real-world conditions
Coordinate with field teams to resolve discrepancies between design intent and site conditions in real time
Participate in or lead coordination meetings, communicating model updates, priorities, and constraints
QA/QC & Compliance
Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes for all BIM deliverables
Identify and proactively resolve design/model inconsistencies and constructability issues
Project Controls & Communication
Collaborate with project managers to track RFIs, change requests, and model updates, ensuring timely incorporation into the model
Provide clear communication and reporting on coordination status, clashes, and risks
Support project scheduling by aligning model deliverables with key milestones
Continuous Improvement & Leadership
Identify opportunities to improve BIM workflows, coordination efficiency, and model quality
Support onboarding and mentoring of junior modelers/coordinators (as applicable)
Stay current with industry best practices and BIM technologies (Revit, Navisworks, etc.)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, BIM, or related technical field
3+ years of BIM coordination experience, ideally on large, complex or industrial projects
Strong proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD
Experience performing clash detection and managing coordination workflows
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience on semiconductor, data center, or large industrial construction projects
Experience supporting field coordination and construction-phase BIM execution
Familiarity with BIM Execution Plans (BEP), LOD standards, and model governance
Experience leading coordination efforts or mentoring junior staff
Understanding of fire protection/life safety systems and codes (NFPA, FM Global)
