About the Role

You'll join Parachute Health's IT & Security team, working alongside engineers and analysts who keep our healthcare technology environment secure, compliant, and operationally efficient. You'll gain hands-on exposure to identity, endpoint, network, and cloud security, compliance, and incident response in an environment governed by SOC 1, SOC 2, and HITRUST CSF.

You won't just sit behind a desk. You'll be a part of a fast-paced environment, work closely with IT and Security professionals on real projects and sit in on incident response and architecture discussions

Responsibilities

Identity & access

Assist with Okta administration: user lifecycle, group management, SSO/MFA configuration, and application assignments.

Automate provisioning, de-provisioning, and periodic access reviews using APIs and scripts.

Scripting & automation

Write and maintain Python and Bash scripts to automate repetitive IT tasks, such as onboarding workflows, account cleanup, device inventory, ticket enrichment, and reporting.

Integrate SaaS tools through REST APIs and webhooks (Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, MDM).

Build small internal tools and CLI utilities that make the team faster (no full-stack development required).

Manage code in Git/GitHub with good practices: branches, PRs, code review, and documentation.

AI & agentic workflows

Use AI tools (Claude, Copilot, Cursor) every day to write code, troubleshoot, and document faster.

Build and maintain AI-powered automations: MCP servers, Claude-based runbooks, agents, and LLM-driven ticket triage.

Find manual IT processes that AI can replace or speed up, then prototype, measure, and ship the fixes.

Write and refine prompts, skills, and agent instructions so the whole team can reuse them.

IT operations & endpoint

Support day-to-day IT operations: user onboarding/off-boarding, hardware provisioning, troubleshooting tickets, and end-user support.

Help manage our macOS laptop fleet: MDM enrollment, configuration, software deployment, and device baselines.

Troubleshoot connectivity, hardware, software, and authentication issues across Mac, Linux, and AWS cloud environments.

Document fixes, runbooks, and FAQs to help the team scale.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, IT Management, or a related field.

Hands-on AI proficiency is required. You use AI tools in your daily work and can show real examples of AI-assisted coding, automation, or problem-solving.

Understanding of how LLMs work in practice: prompting, context, tool use/function calling, and their limits (hallucinations, verifying output).

Scripting in Python or Bash is required. You can independently write, read, and debug working scripts: calling APIs, parsing JSON/CSV, transforming data, and generating reports.

Working knowledge of the Linux command line: file system navigation, permissions, process management, and log inspection (grep, awk, sed, tail, journalctl).

Experience working with REST APIs (authentication, pagination, error handling).

Comfortable using macOS as your daily OS and troubleshooting common Mac issues.

Solid IT troubleshooting fundamentals across hardware, software, and OS (Mac, Windows, Linux).

Networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, VPN, TLS, and the ability to diagnose connectivity issues methodically.

Understanding of identity concepts: SSO, SAML, OAuth/OIDC, MFA, and user lifecycle/group management in an IdP (Okta or equivalent).

Working proficiency with Git, GitHub, and the terminal: you can clone a repo, branch, commit, and open a PR.

Ability to read logs to trace an issue (system logs, application logs).

Keeps up with trends in IT and AI and wants to experiment with new tools.

Strong written communication: you can document what you did so others can use it.

Must reside in the U.S.

Experience with workflow automation platforms (Okta Workflows, Zapier, n8n, Workato).

Infrastructure-as-code or config management exposure (Terraform, Ansible).

SQL skills for querying data (Postgres, Redshift, BigQuery).

Familiarity with CI/CD basics (GitHub Actions).

Hackathon, coursework, or side projects involving AI or automation.
