Senior 3D Generalist

Monks is looking for a Senior 3D Generalist with profound knowledge of modeling, texturing, and virtual set creation to join our ever-growing team in Buenos Aires. In this role, you will work on demanding CGI projects for premium customers with the highest demands on quality and aesthetics.

Our ideal candidate is characterized by a great eye for detail and has a strong focus on modeling various hard-surface assets, everyday objects, and screens, as well as building and dressing virtual sets. While hyper-realism is not mandatory, the ability to output high-quality, beautiful renders is essential.

Requirements

Lead and execute various steps of the 3D pipeline, with a strong focus on: modeling (hard surface, objects, screens), texturing, shading, lighting, and rendering.

Build, dress, and light virtual sets and environments to match the project's aesthetic needs.

Ensure and maintain the expected visual quality and render times across projects, dealing with time and budget constraints while creating the best possible output.

Produce high-quality, aesthetically pleasing renders.

Receive feedback from directors, leads, and clients, proactively applying necessary corrections.

Collaborate with animators, compositors, and other generalists to establish an efficient framework and ensure workflow and quality are at a maximum.

Assure the best visual and technical quality of your created assets before handing them over to the compositing department.

Work together with a growing number of dedicated and highly motivated CG Artists.

Background & Skills

You have at least 5+ years of experience, ideally within the advertising or VFX industry.

You have excellent, profound knowledge of Cinema4D or Maya.

You have strong rendering skills and are comfortable with render engines like Octane or Redshift.

You are used to dealing with complex CGI pipelines.

You are an independent, structured worker and a clear communicator.

You are self-confident—especially when receiving feedback or dealing with clients.

Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Nice to Have (Bonus points!)

3D animation skills (especially within Cinema4D) are highly valued.

Knowledge of Unreal Engine for virtual production or real-time rendering.

Knowledge of After Effects and a good understanding of 2D Motion principles.

Experience using Generative AI tools (whether for video generation, concepting, or AI software/plugins that help speed up and optimize the 3D pipeline).
