Associate Health and Safety Specialist
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver engaging safety training programs including:
HAZWOPER 8-hour and 24-hour
OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour (General Industry)
NFPA 70E Arc Flash
Safety Leadership
Conduct training in-person, via webinars, or through Learning Management Systems (LMS), including development of site-specific content.
Assist clients with the development, implementation, and maintenance of core safety programs such as:
Emergency Action Plans
Lockout/Tagout
Hazard Communication
PPE
Bloodborne Pathogens
Perform hazard assessments and site inspections; generate written reports with corrective actions and recommendations.
Coordinate and manage training schedules and consulting engagements in alignment with client proposals.
Ensure timely completion of internal administrative tasks including time tracking, expense reporting, and documentation.
Experience Required
5–10 years of direct experience in the safety profession, with a strong emphasis on training, hazard identification, and program development.
Proven experience delivering safety training in both classroom and virtual environments.
Demonstrated ability to assess site-specific hazards and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
Customer-focused approach with strong relationship-building capabilities.
Previous consulting experience preferred.
Certifications & Credentials
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field (preferred)
OSHA 501 – Trainer for General Industry (preferred)
Recognized safety credentials such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or CSHO are highly desirable.
Current First Aid/CPR/AED instructor certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and conduct training or site inspections for extended periods.
Comfortable working in industrial, construction, or field environments when needed.
Capable of lifting training materials and equipment (up to 30 lbs).
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally up to 40% of the time, including occasional overnight stays.
