Revenue Accounting Transformation Manager
About the Role:
Planet is seeking a high-impact Revenue Accounting Transformation Manager to lead the modernization, automation, and scalability of our global revenue engine, reporting to the Global Revenue Accounting Director.
In this role, you will stand at the intersection of technical accounting standards (ASC 606), business systems engineering, and data analytics. You will lead cross-functional transformation across the entire Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) lifecycle. From evaluating new monetization models and designing system configurations to automating audit disclosures and acting as the primary SOX compliance liaison, you will ensure our accounting operations scale effortlessly alongside business growth. You will serve as the architectural bridge between commercial innovation, technical revenue compliance, and automated data pipelines—ensuring the company scales rapidly without sacrificing auditability or operational speed.
This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States. If located near an office, you are expected to work from that office 3 days per week.
Impact You’ll Own:
System Architecture: Lead the design and configuration of automated revenue subledgers.
Q2C Streamlining: Modernize end-to-end Quote-to-Cash workflows to eliminate manual journal entries, eradicate spreadsheet risks, and shorten month-end close cycles.
Cross-System Data Alignment: Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate revenue data across ERP, subledgers, and data warehouses.
Footnote & Executive Dashboards: Automate ASC 606 footnote disclosures and key financial metrics with automated reconciliations.
Commercial Strategy Engagement: Partner with Product, Sales Ops, and Pricing teams to evaluate systems impact and revenue rules (ASC 606) for new products and monetization models.
Audit Ownership: Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors on revenue systems, process changes, and automation workflows.
Control Design: Design, document, and test key SOX application controls and risk matrices resulting from system upgrades and new product launches.
Standards Adherence: Ensure all automated system rules, data flows, and manual overrides remain strictly compliant with ASC 606.
Change Management: Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and train finance teams on updated system workflows.
What You Bring:
6+ years of revenue accounting experience (combining Big 4 accounting and high-growth corporate finance experience is strongly preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Information Systems, or comparable.
Excellent understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606 principles in a complex SaaS, recurring revenue, multi-element, or usage-based business models.
Hands-on experience with SOX 404 compliance, internal control frameworks, and leading audit walk-throughs for automated IT application controls.
Direct experience implementing, configuring, or managing enterprise ERPs and revenue subledgers/engines (NetSuite ARM, Salesforce, etc.).
Proficiency with enterprise data warehouses and BI/visualization tools; solid database query/SQL skills are highly valued.
Success leading cross-functional project teams, managing project risk, and delivering complex system implementations on schedule.
Exceptional cross-functional leadership skills—capable of aligning incentives across Sales Ops, Legal, IT, Product, FP&A, and External Auditors.
Solid articulate communicator who can effortlessly explain complex technical accounting requirements to engineering teams and technical data concepts to accounting leadership.

The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is listed below. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only.
