The Project Manager role is based in Marietta; however, candidates located anywhere in the Greater Atlanta area will be considered, provided they are able to work a hybrid schedule and commute to the Marietta office as needed.
Project Manager, Civil Engineering – Single-Family Residential
Atwell is seeking a Project Manager, Civil Engineering to lead civil engineering projects for national homebuilders. This role is focused primarily on single-family residential development across multiple states. The ideal candidate is client-facing, builds strong relationships, and can contribute to business development by identifying opportunities and growing client partnerships.
Duties:
Manage civil engineering projects for national homebuilder clients
Coordinate project teams, schedules, budgets, and deliverables across multiple offices and states.
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and responding to their project needs.
Lead coordination with planners, surveyors, utility providers, agencies, and other project partners.
Review and guide civil design work, including site layouts, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and roadway improvements.
Oversee permitting and agency coordination across applicable jurisdictions.
Support business development by helping prepare proposals, attending client meetings, and identifying new opportunities.
Build and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective homebuilder clients.
Mentor and support the development of project team members.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain one through reciprocity in relevant states.
Experience managing civil engineering projects for single-family residential communities.
Familiarity with projects for national or regional homebuilders and with multi-state project delivery.
Strong communication, organization, and client-service skills.
Experience leading project teams and managing project scope, schedules, and budgets.
Interest and ability in business development; an established homebuilder network is a plus.
