Product Marketing Manager, Competitive Intelligence
About the Role
Looking for a role where you can build something from scratch instead of inheriting someone else's playbook? We're hiring our first Competitive Intelligence Manager to own the competitive program end to end. You'll keep our field teams sharp with real-time intel, run sales enablement that reps actually use, feed competitive signals into product and roadmap decisions, and shape campaigns that make it obvious why we win.
As our Competitive Intelligence Lead, you'll work closely with Product Marketing, Sales, and Product Management to keep us ahead of the market. If you like owning a function nobody's built yet, turning scattered competitor noise into a clear point of view, and being the person sales calls before a big deal, this is your role.
What You’ll Do
Create and define differentiating positioning for our products and solutions for our various personas (ex: marketing teams, product teams, data teams etc)
Run point on cross-functional launches and campaigns across marketing, sales, and product
Conduct user research to identify gaps in the market for our product to fill
Create, maintain, and improve website messaging, customer case studies, and sales enablement materials
Help internal teams and product evangelists craft messaging and sequences that align with customer value
Externally evangelize Hightouch at field events, customer engagements, and webinars
What We’re Looking For
4-6 years in competitive intelligence, product marketing, or market research, ideally in B2B SaaS
Strong primary and secondary research skills (win/loss interviews, analyst reports, public filings, review sites, pricing pages); ability to synthesize messy, conflicting signals into a clear point of view; comfortable building and maintaining structured frameworks (battlecards, comparison matrices, positioning maps).
Proven track record of producing content that sales and marketing actually use — battlecards, competitive decks, objection handling guides
Storytelling: Proficient in turning complex, technology-heavy topics into digestible, compelling stories that resonate with target audiences
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for crafting clear, persuasive messaging
Cross-functional fluency: has worked closely with sales (win/loss, deal support), product (roadmap and positioning input), and marketing (messaging, launches); understands sales cycles well enough to know what reps need in the moment, not just what's "interesting."
Domain fit: familiarity with data infrastructure, CDPs, MarTech, or adjacent technical B2B markets.
High ownership: flags competitive shifts before sales asks, not just after losing a deal; comfortable being the first person to build this function rather than inheriting an existing playbook.
Bonus If You Have
Built or owned a CI program (not just contributed to one) at a prior company; experience in a high-growth or fast-moving market where competitors and positioning shift often.
Experience in the CDP, martech, data infrastructure, adtech, AI, or lifecycle marketing ecosystem
Startup Experience: Previous experience working in a startup environment, demonstrating the ability to adapt quickly and thrive in a fast-paced setting while wearing many hats.
The salary range for this position is $135,000 - $165,000 USD per year, which is location-independent in accordance with our remote-first policy. We also offer meaningful equity compensation in the form of ISO options and offer early exercise and a 10-year post-termination exercise window.
