ABOUT THE TEAM

The Product Marketing team shapes how OpenAI brings its research, models, and products to market. We work across Product, Research, Sales, Solutions, Partnerships, Communications, and Marketing to understand customer needs, define compelling narratives, and help organizations realize meaningful value from AI.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a senior product marketing leader to define how OpenAI creates value for the functions and industries within every company. You will develop the strategy connecting our models and business products to the needs of specific lines of business and priority sectors—turning a broad portfolio into clear audience narratives, use cases, customer proof, and go-to-market motions.

You will identify the highest-value audiences and workflows, create coherence across our industry and functional stories, and mobilize teams around a focused portfolio strategy. This is a highly senior individual contributor role with company-wide influence and the opportunity to help shape the team and its operating model.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

- Set the product marketing strategy across priority lines of business and industries, including segmentation, opportunity sizing, portfolio choices, and the relationship between functional and sector narratives.

- Define how OpenAI helps core business functions transform their work, grounded in clear buyer and practitioner insights, messaging, workflows, adoption paths, and proof.

- Build differentiated narratives and activation plans for priority industries, accounting for distinct buyers, operating models, trust requirements, partners, and market dynamics.

- Create a durable system for use cases, demonstrations, customer evidence, ROI stories, and executive narratives that make OpenAI’s value tangible and defensible.

- Translate strategy into launches, campaigns, field plays, partner motions, executive programs, content, events, and enablement spanning the customer journey.

- Turn customer, field, product, usage, research, and competitive insights into sharper priorities and stronger feedback loops.

- Align senior stakeholders across Product, Research, go-to-market, and Marketing around a coherent portfolio strategy.

YOU MIGHT THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU:

- Have 12+ years of experience in product marketing, industry marketing, solutions marketing, enterprise go-to-market, or an adjacent technical marketing discipline.

- Have successfully set strategy across complex product portfolios, multiple audiences, and cross-functional teams.

- Lead effectively through influence and can build alignment among senior peers in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments.

- Bring deep experience defining personas, lines of business, industries, workflows, and market opportunities using customer research, market data, and field insights.

- Can translate models, APIs, platforms, and business products into credible value for executives, IT leaders, developers, practitioners, and buyers in regulated environments.

- Have built positioning, use-case libraries, launch systems, customer-proof programs, field plays, campaigns, and feedback loops that improved adoption and commercial outcomes.

- Are an exceptional writer, presenter, and facilitator with strong judgment in high-stakes settings.

- Move comfortably between long-range strategy and hands-on execution while improving the quality and repeatability of the broader team’s work.

- Have direct experience building industry or line-of-business marketing for enterprise software, cloud, data, developer, or AI platforms.

- Understand the governance, procurement, evidence, and responsible-adoption requirements of regulated or high-trust sectors.

- Have marketed APIs, model-based products, developer tools, or technical platforms to both business and technical audiences.

- Have supported global field teams, strategic accounts, partners, or executive engagement programs.

- Have mentored senior marketers or helped build and scale a product marketing function.
