Mark43’s mission is to empower communities and their governments with new technologies that improve the safety and quality of life for all. We build powerful, scalable, and elegant software that sets a new standard for the tools upon which our first responders rely. Our users are diverse, and we are therefore committed to embracing diversity of thought and experience within our team.

We are looking for a Product Manager to join our CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) team. In this role, you will help shape the systems that dispatchers and first responders depend on during critical moments. You will own and evolve key areas of our CAD platform, driving products from idea through launch and iteration while also stepping into existing product areas that need focused product leadership to reach their full potential.

This is a highly execution-focused role for a product manager who is comfortable operating across different stages of the product lifecycle. You might take an ambiguous customer problem and turn it into a new product or capability, or jump into a product already underway, quickly build context, establish priorities, and help the team deliver. You will work closely with a dedicated engineering team and partner cross-functionally with design, sales, implementation, customer success, and other product teams.

The problems we solve are complex, consequential, and often don't come with an obvious answer. You will combine customer insight, product judgment, data, and a deep understanding of our technology to determine where we should invest and how we can deliver the greatest impact for public safety agencies and the communities they serve.

What You'll Do

If you were part of our team, here are some things you would have done last week:

Took an ambiguous customer or business problem, explored potential solutions with customers and teammates, and helped define the path from idea to product

Stepped into an existing product initiative, quickly built context on the customer need, technical landscape, and work completed to date, and helped the team establish clear priorities and next steps

Owned the roadmap and execution for one or more areas of our CAD platform, balancing near-term customer needs with longer-term product opportunities

Partnered closely with engineering and design to turn complex operational problems into intuitive, reliable, and scalable product experiences

Worked directly with dispatchers, supervisors, command staff, and technology leaders to understand how they work today and identify opportunities to make their jobs easier and more effective

Evaluated new product opportunities, emerging technologies, and customer needs to determine where Mark43 can create meaningful value

Used product analytics, customer feedback, operational insights, and business context to make prioritization decisions and measure whether the products we build are having the intended impact

Collaborated with sales, implementation, customer success, and other go-to-market partners to launch new capabilities, support customer adoption, and incorporate what we learn back into the product

Prioritized and refined the product backlog, made tradeoffs when priorities competed, and kept your engineering team focused on the highest-impact work

Balanced new product development with the less glamorous but critical work of improving usability, performance, resiliency, scalability, and existing customer workflows

What You'll Need

We're looking for a Product Manager with 4–7+ years of experience building and shipping software products, ideally in enterprise SaaS, workflow-heavy products, or other operationally complex environments. This level of experience is important because this role requires someone who can independently take ownership of a product area, navigate ambiguity, and adapt their approach based on what a product and team need at a particular moment.

Proven ability to own products or significant product areas end-to-end, from identifying and validating an opportunity through execution, launch, and iteration

Experience taking products or capabilities from 0 to 1, including working through ambiguity, defining the customer problem, evaluating solutions, and creating clarity for a team

Ability to step into an existing product or initiative, quickly understand the context and constraints, and provide the product leadership needed to move it forward

Strong product judgment and the ability to balance customer needs, technical considerations, business priorities, and longer-term product strategy

Experience working closely with engineering and design teams in a collaborative, one-team environment

Comfort engaging directly with customers and translating complex workflows and pain points into clear product opportunities

Strong communication skills with the ability to create alignment among technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience partnering cross-functionally with sales, implementation, customer success, support, or other go-to-market teams

Experience using qualitative and quantitative insights to guide product decisions, prioritize investments, and evaluate impact

Experience building enterprise, workflow-heavy, real-time, or operational products is a plus; public safety experience is not required

People who thrive on our team also tend to share the following characteristics:

Humble, open, and curious. You seek out different perspectives, ask thoughtful questions, and are willing to change your mind as you learn. You care more about finding the right answer than being the person who had it first.

Comfortable with ambiguity. You don't need every problem to arrive neatly defined. You can bring structure to uncertainty, determine what needs to be learned, and help a team move from an open-ended problem toward a clear course of action.

Communicative and collaborative. You proactively engage with customers, stakeholders, and teammates to build shared understanding and alignment. You know that great products are built by teams, not individuals.

Capable and driven. You take ownership and follow through. Whether you're starting something new or stepping into work already in motion, you can identify what matters most and help the team make meaningful progress.

Pragmatic and adaptable. You know that different products and teams need different things at different moments. You're equally willing to think strategically, dig into customer workflows, refine a backlog, work through a tricky tradeoff, or tackle the unglamorous details required to ship a great product.

Location

Our team is distributed across the United States, with offices in New York, Boston, and Manchester, UK. We are a remote-friendly company and support candidates working from approved states.
