Product Designer, Collector Engagement
About the Company
Fanatics Collectibles is operating at the intersection of collectibles, culture, and technology. Backed by world-class investors, operators, and sports & entertainment partners, we are building the global leader in next-generation collectibles. As part of the broader Fanatics ecosystem, we leverage a digital sports platform that spans over 900 sports properties and engages more than 81 million fans. Together, we are reimagining every part of the collectibles experience for fans, partners, and creators.
Role Summary
We are seeking a Product Designer III to design the collector-facing experiences delivered by the Collector Engagement team.
This designer will partner closely with Product, Engineering and Brand to design how collectors discover, understand, progress through and complete programs — spanning progression and quest experiences, redemption and reward flows, leaderboards, and check-in moments in retail and live event environments. These are mechanics-heavy experiences governed by real rules and real rewards, so the core craft challenge is making complex systems immediately legible without losing the moments that make collecting exciting.
Responsibilities
Design, prototype and deliver end-to-end experiences for assigned collector programs, from flows and wireframes through production-ready UI
Design the collector-facing surfaces where progress across multiple concurrent programs must coexist without overwhelming the collector
Make rules-based mechanics understandable, including eligibility, progress state, reward tiers, expiry, and the paths where a collector does not qualify
Design the physical-to-digital handoff, including card scanning and check-in moments that occur in poor lighting, on constrained connections, and in crowded environments
Build and extend reusable components and patterns for program surfaces so that each new program is assembled from existing building blocks
Collaborate daily with frontend engineers on feasibility, interaction states, motion and handoff, and stay engaged through implementation review
Partner with Product on program mechanics, contributing to what a program is and not only how it is presented
Contribute to accessibility, localization readiness, and consistency across collector-facing surfaces
Validate designs with collectors and against program telemetry, and iterate on the results
Contribute to design critique and support quality across the broader design team
Stay current with consumer mobile design patterns and apply relevant advancements to collector experiences
Required Qualifications
3+ years of professional product design experience
Portfolio demonstrating shipped consumer mobile work, with clear ownership of end-to-end flows
Strong range from ambiguous problem definition through flows, interaction detail, and polished, engineering-ready UI
Experience designing rules-based or state-heavy experiences such as progression, loyalty, wallets, or marketplaces
Strong proficiency in Figma, including building and maintaining components and variables
Experience working within and contributing to an established design system
Understanding of mobile interaction patterns, accessibility fundamentals, and platform conventions
Ability to present and defend design decisions to Product and Engineering partners, and to revise them in response to new information
Strong collaboration and communication skills within cross-functional environments
Professional working proficiency in English, with daily collaboration across US-based stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing gamified systems, quests, achievements, or progression mechanics
Experience designing for physical-to-digital interactions such as scanning, QR or NFC
Motion and prototyping skills for communicating reward, unlock and reveal moments
Experience designing for live events, venues, or retail environments
Familiarity with design tokens and multi-surface component libraries
Passion for sports, collectibles, creators, or digital communities
Design Contribution
This role requires strong hands-on product design expertise. Designers at this level are expected to independently deliver production-ready designs for assigned programs, contribute to the component library and pattern decisions that support them, and maintain high standards for usability, consistency and craft quality consistent with role expectations.
